I like the mix of scoped and un-scoped rifles here.

Some southern units had special black units snipers. Unfortunately history doesnt say much about them.

We've yet to find any credible source which would confirm any black soldiers saw action in the southern army.

I don't think that is what was meant. I think he is referring to something along the lines of "special forces". However, snipers were not usually massed in one unit together in the South, but rather, just a few men per regiment or brigade. As to black soldiers in Southern service, there were many. It has been estimated that as much as 1/3 of Stonewall's troops were black. Additionally, you might look into "The South Was Right" by James and Walter Kennedy, who document the appearance of a number black soldiers in Southern units. Unlike in the north where regiments were segregated, black soldiers served alongside white soldiers. Nathan Bedford Forrest noted in a post war interview that he had almost 50 black troops under him and that finer Confederates there never were. Please do not discount the bravery and sacrifices of these men who also served by omitting them from the game.

All our sharpshooter units are tiny detachments of 20-30 men, meant to harrass the enemy at a distance.

The research we did, confirmed that blacks were parts of southern units, but not as figthing men, only support, servants, cooks, labourers, etc.

If you've got some verifiable, uncontested sources that claim otherwise, please present them, as we could not locate any.

This is what makes you guys so cool, you DO the research, and are willing to implement something, if someone presents historical evidence

well the Louisiana national guard was predominately creole and was still formed when the war kicked off, so they were part of the confederate army. However there services were refused, so they never saw any action on the south side sadly.

Description

We've started implementing a couple dozen custom weapon models to the mod. So if a unit was using a Springfield or an Enfield, you'll be able to see the troops actually using it.
