Amazons:Total War - Recalesced is an RTW/BI game based mod allowing the player to explore ancient battlefield using modern military concepts. These concepts are:
- Mobility and Stand-off Weapon capability using women cavalry.
- Area Denial "Minefield" using field engineering units.
- Long Range Mobile Artillery.
- Wagon Warfare to allow German Panzer like armor combat.

Guerrilla
Warfare, allowing agents to infiltrate into enemy territory to raise army deep behind enemy line.
- Linked Armor-Clad Cavalry which was the dominating cavalry formation in Eurasia for centuries.
First time ever on any video game.
- Terrifying Super-heating Incendiary Munitions known as the Thermite weapons.

Other Major Features
1. Extended campaign map, now including Eurasia and Northern India.
2. Quest based game playing. Player must fulfill faction specific mission to advance to higher level.
3. Breath taking scenery using custom RS II battlemap.

Instead of another me-too hoplite and legionnaire game, the Amazons Total War mod strives to bring the players the ability to explore many modern or exotic military concepts on the battlefield of antiquity. Such as

1. Mobile warfare with stand-off capability.
2. Area denial weapons such as minefield, a first in the Rome:Total War modifications.
3. Long Range Mobile Artillery, allowing fire support, counter-battery, rolling barrage and other modern battlefield operations.
4. Wagon Warfare rendering combat similar to WWII's tank units.
5. Guerrilla Warfare, allows Amazon agents to infiltrate into enemy territory and raise her own faction's army deep behind the enemy line. Another First on a Total War modifications.
6. With the long lost civilization called the Far East Celt, player can explore the use of Linked Armor Cavalry, a dominating cavalry formation in Eurasia for centuries. Another First in any video game.

All the details of game are based on meticulous anthropological studies, many of the theses were long lost in history (as in His-Story), but were probably close to reality at one time or another.

Latest 7.0C with patch (March 7, 2013) is a major step forward from the previous release.

The work to make the model look real has really be paying off with some astonishing results. Almost all the models now have smooth contour instead of edgy look for the limbs. And major animation problems have all been corrected.

Finally two questions -

Will other factions get some more updates like Far East Celts did? (Like Germans are now called something Sueti or something like that, not sure if they have anything new yet)

And how do commanders/aristocracy get the 'Hate' or 'Despise' faction. Like 'Hate Greeks' or 'Despise Amazons'.

BTW, balance is very good in this last update (7.0c, Thrace actually manage to own Amazonia, and now is kicking into Egypt. And Macedonia owned Greece in like 4-5 years (16-20 turns))

Far East Celt Unit Cost:

High unit costs are for male units, reflecting the fact that they have recent suffered devastating defeat at the hands of the Huns. The faction has recently settled in Tarim Basin across the Gobi Desert away from the Huns, and are almost completely deprived of menfolks. So the male unit are 6-8 time the recruiting cost of the Western Celts.

Western Celt's Chariot:
All Chariot units in RTW knock down their own infantry.

Far East Celt's Lugh:
The temple description needs to be updated.

Tingi joining your faction:
Why! They must like you!
Not sure the exact cause, but there can be many reasons.

German (Suebi) still remain a conventional faction, no upgrade is possible.

Hate/Despise factor:
The game has preset relationships, most Amazon generals hate the Greek for example. And the Greeks supposed to hate the Amazons.

Also, would be better if you can post this in total war forum instead of comment section, the word processing with five line window here is not the best place to provide long answers.

Hi, again. I haven't manage to reproduce the enemy faction imminent victory yet, but i given try to Far East Celts and found a lots of strange things -

This units(cost/upkeep) - Celtic Infantry (1600/190), Celt Peasants (600/100), Far East Celt Slingers (720/170),Far East Celt Peltats (880/130), Celtic Cavalery (1800), Far East Celtic Nobles (2200) - has too huge cost for what they do. You can get so much better units much cheaper and with pathetic low upkeep compare to them (especially Cavalery, Nobles and Infantry are ridicules in this). Also all of this units, (+ Celtic Swordman) are missing unit portrait in unit description - all of them has generic peasant or something instead, while units with similar icons are on Western Celts side or Germans, they still have their own portraits for descriptions so this is just for Far East Celts.

Western Celts(not sure about other factions yet) Barbarian Chariots run over and knockdown own troops - is this intended?

For Far East Celts, the Lugh shrine upgrade, in description says it allows Woad Warriors, but i could never built Woad Warriors as Far East Celts (Aren't the Woad something derived from Odin??? What's this with Lugh?)

During campaign, a city south of Spain - Tingi joined me out of the blue, without me doing anything, this was a scripted event or i did something to trigger it? (Haven't had any contact with Lybian Amazons before who owned it, and then owned me instead as i couldn't defend a single city surrounded by them on the other side of the world)

No Problem at all!

You have the correct software but you need to activate the BI mode. BI stands for Barbarian Invasion. The error you are getting is because the software started running in Rome Total War mode which does not recognise many advanced features in BI.

Again, it would really help if you can review the installation section of the readme folder. Or go to the home page of this mod project and post questions there.

hi
I just downloaded the mod and tried to make it work, but everytime i try to run it it just pops the loading screen for like 1 second and then talks sth about a script error in
\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\AmazonsTW-Recalesced\data\descr_sm_factions line 38 column 1 or so
it says the command horde_min_units is not supported

what is the reason behind this anf furtheron: is there a solution for the problem ??

You need Rome Total War with Barbarian Invasion (rev 1.6), or its features (such as horde) will not work.

There is detail description in the readme folder. I would suggest that the document be review thoroughly first before installation or start of game.

Thyssa is actually quite playable, if

1. you are willing to make Thyssa to go horde, then they will have their own wagons.
2. or if you are willing violate neighbor's neutrality to raise advanced units

BTW, the wagon is the equivalent of tank, and there should not be any surprise at how difficult to deal with these units with only entry level infantry, archers, and light cavalry units. there is a complete description (albeit in TWC forum which you can not access from work) on how to deal with wagons.

However, the linked armor-clad cavalry is quite different matter, LAC looks like wagon units without wagons, (i.e. just a team of horses with driver and guard with the horses but no wagons.) The only effective way to deal with LAC (or LACC) is to obtain thermite weapons.

On war-wagons, without advanced units, archers firing fire-arrows can still destroy them, but the opponent of the war-wagon will get wiped out unless there are phalanx units which the Thyssa don't have.
