The Air Power Mod is set in the year 2016. War has erupted in South Asia. India has invaded Pakistan after numerous terrorist attacks on its soil, coming to a head with the Delhi Massacre. India blames Pakistan for its failure to reign in these extremists. On March 17, 2016, India launched a pre-emptive strike into Pakistan. From there, almost all the major factions of the modern world became embroiled in the conflict. The Untied States, European Union, China, Middle Eastern Alliance (centered around Iran), and Russia all joined the war. North Korea did not lag too far behind either. Why? The reason is fairly obvious. The conflict with North Korea has blown-up much quicker than expected, and even should NK still remain on the map after it's done, it's quite doubtful they will be able to play the role in the storyline that we'd wished them to. Thus, they may be eliminated as a faction.

At the moment, I'm considering having China swap sides to compensate (China had always been teetering on the edge anyway), and either leaving it at 6 factions (3v3), or bringing in Japan to compliment the US/Pakistani side. Bringing in Japan poses a few issues, but hopefully issues that we can overcome justifiably. I'll make a final decision on this later. For now, the APM is reduced to 6 factions.
