A new version of Age of Chivalry: Hegemony has been released, adding new graphics and fixing balance issues and bugs.

Age of Chivalry: Hegemony map

In version 2.0, no fewer than 26 countries are available to the player: Austria, Bavaria, Bohemia, Brandenburg, Brittany, Burgundy, Denmark, England, Flanders, Florence, France, Friesland, Genoa, Guelders, Helvetia, Hungary, Liège, Milan, Naples, the Papal States, Poland, Savoy, Saxony, Scotland, Venice, and Wales.

Scottish settlement

The new version addresses some balance issues, for instance toning down overpowered priests by giving them a modest training cost increase for each technology you research that will boost their conversion abilities.

Teutonic Order town

Graphically speaking, this version not only adds a ton of new eye-candy objects, but also improves and completes the two existing building sets for the Baltic countries (Brandenburg, Denmark and Saxony) and the Low Countries (Flanders, Friesland and Guelders). In addition, a number of isolated building graphics have also been replaced or improved, such as the Scottish Princely Court or the Milanese Castle. All these updates should give version 2.0 a much more polished feel.

You can get version 2.0 HERE.

I want to replace a voice set for a civ (Bretons), but I don't how. What must I do?

There's not really an easy way to do so. You'd have to import new voice files into the game's data file, then open the game data and alter the audio files that will play in response to a Breton unit receiving a command. What do you want to replace them with?

Hello, are there going to be new scenarios about the new civs you added?

I thought about a mission regarding the Budai Nagy Antal revolt, where the player will control the Transylvanian voivode's forces against the peasant rebels, or some scenario regarding one of the many battles of the Black Army and for Naples, a "Sicilian Vespers" mission.

An off-topic question: I know it could make Wales overpowered, but have you considered enabling Ordonnance Companies or at least, Bloodlines, so that Wales can at least have some decent late-level units? While they are meant to be early bloomers, they can struggle harshly against civs like Guelders or Burgundy, as their pikemen aren't strong enough.

I'm not working on any new scenarios at the moment, as I don't really have the time for that any more. But the scenario editor should give you plenty of options for making your own scenarios and sharing them with others! The ideas you mention are all very suitable for fun scenarios.

As to Wales, they're supposed to be a primarily early game country. I'll look at their strengths and weaknesses again to see if they're too weak in the late game, but because their pikes are already boosted (they're faster, for instance) I may not make any changes.

Having looked at their strengths and weaknesses, their Uchelwyr can get pretty fearsome in the late game. Even without Ordonnance Companies they can end up with 130 hp and 20 attack, which, considering the price, is a very decent amount. Their armour upgrades area also very good and as some of their best units are very cheap, they can easily outspam enemies with higher quality troops.

I think it was supposed to be in that way.

No. The current graphics are far more accurate in appearance to the famous Hungarian Black Army knights than the graphics used in the Forgotten. For light cavalry, the Székely Auxiliary already has appropriate and unique graphics.

Hello Kor, I've noticed you have added unique names for certain common units, such as the italian "Scopettiere". I really like this feature, as it makes the civs even more different than each other, have you considered adding this feature for other units too (example: the Trooper, who seems to have many different names, like Uchelwr or Hereboer)?

On a side note, I'm in love with the new Milanese and Dutch/Belgian buildings, and the Milanese castle in particular! Congratulations for your work :D

Thanks for the compliments! The unique names have been added in cases where they denote a very specific troop type, which was recognised in that particular region with that particular name. I've avoided just translating all names, because then the multitude of unique names would cause confusion to the player, and lengthen technology descriptions a lot. There's quite a few troop types that were common everywhere that didn't really have regionally specific names - like the units in the footman line, so there I just used the generic names. I think the unique names add a lot of character, but keeping them limited to historically significant troops for a specific country keeps them fresh.

Glad to hear you like the new buildings! I intend to add more new graphics to the Milanese building set over time.
