Concentrating on the late medieval period, Age of Chivalry: Hegemony replaces or significantly alters each of the civilizations in the original game, while also adding a number of new ones, allowing the player to control Central and Western European states. Many new units and technologies have been added and gameplay dynamics have been changed considerably in this complete overhaul of Age of Empires II.

Play as Austria, Bavaria, Bohemia, Brandenburg, Brittany, Burgundy, Denmark, England, Flanders, Florence, France, Friesland, Genoa, Guelders, Helvetia, Liège, Milan, Poland, Savoy, Saxony, Scotland, Venice, or Wales. Fight against your friends or the AI through random maps or on newly crafted real world maps of Central Europe, Western Europe, Northern Italy or the Low Countries, or play through the unique historical eight-scenario campaign. Explore a whole new medieval period in Age of Chivalry: Hegemony!

After a considerable time in production, the long ago promised new version of Age of Chivalry: Hegemony has finally arrived! It adds five new countries - Florence, Milan, Venice, Liège, and Brandenburg - each with unique features and distinctive character.

Teutonic Order fortress

Command Italian Condottieri and Liègeois Haidroits, Brandenburger Junkers or Venetian Stradiots. Construct magnificent monuments, such as the church of St Mark of Venice, the Duomo of Florence or the St Lambert cathedral of Liège.

Florentine Guild Hall

Take a stand when advancing your country through the centuries: as Milan, will you favour the Lombard League or the rise of the Visconti Signoria? As Venice, will you look to the sea or the land? As Liège, will you side with the rebellious citizenry or the ruling bishops? Or read about each country in the history section.

The eighteen original countries have not been neglected, either. Many units have new graphics and many more building graphics have been added while some old graphics have been improved. Some countries have been rebalanced after much testing and a new AI is now included which poses much more of a challenge than the old AI ever did. Furthermore, many new objects have been included for scenario designers to use.

G'day Happertesch.
This mod looks grouse, but I have a slight problem, when I click on single player or multiplayer, it asks for The Conquerors CD. I have the Age of Empires Collectors Edition (the one with Age of Empires and Age of Empires 2 plus both of their expansions), I tried running this mod with the disk in, but it still comes up with the same message, So I am unable to play this great mod of yours. I would like to know if there is a fix for this or if you would please look into this unfortunate problem and fix it in the next release. Thank you for any reply.

Hi, how did you install it? I have the same version of AoK:TC and it runs fine for me. The only thing to note is that if you use the Collectors Edition you shouldn't install the C patch prior to installing Age of Chivalry, as the Collectors Edition already has the C patch installed and installing it again will cause the aforementioned CD-rom error. Hope this works for you!

Okay, it works now. I re-installed The Collectors Edition of Age of Empires II: Age of Kings: The Conquerors Expansion without installing the C patch and now it works. Thank you for your help and thank you for your grouse mod, hope the next release is going well and will be out whenever you feel it is ready. Please have a good day and please a good night.

Hello. I've discovered this mod not so long ago. Looks fantastic. Got a question. Are you going to add in future any of such countries as Hungary, Kievan Rus'/Moscow kingdom/Novgorod and, of course, Golden Horde?

At the moment I'm focusing on Western and Central European states. I will be adding four new states in an upcoming patch, but at the moment I'm not planning to include the states you mentioned (although I did nearly include Hungary). Read more here:

Congratulations on the incredible work
stays that way

I have a question:

1) You still want to place more new civilizations in the future?

For example: Aztec, Mayan or Incan ... any of these could still appear?

Thanks! In an upcoming patch I will add a number of new countries: Florence, Liège, Milan and Venice. Because I'm focusing on European history I won't add Central or South American states.

Hi, your mod looks amazing, but I can't seem to play it. I installed it in my AOE directory, but whenever I clicked the launcher, it always runs regular Age of Empires.
