That's right! Happy halloween everyone! Now this period of the year is the best time for a horror developer (at least for us). This is why we're trying to make this event a bit special, with a couple of announcements.
Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut
First of all, it's the 4th year anniversary of the Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut release. We're very proud of the mod, and we recommend you all to try it out during Halloween, and also while you're waiting on Cry of Fear. A trailer of Afraid of Monsters: DC is displayed below. Progress
The Cry of Fear progress is going awesome, and we've made so much the last month. Last week, I made another update that was 647 mb big and contained 814 files and 112 folders, and that update only took 2 weeks. This shows how great the progress is going!
Another cool thing is that the Single Player campaign is almost entirely finished. All the endings and all the unlockables are all finished. And now we're talking about 30 unique unlockables such as clothes, weapons, game modes (like Hunk in Resident Evil), developer commentaries, items and etc. This demonstrates how far we've come with modding since Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut, which only had 1 unlockable (which we thought was damn awesome).
The coming months we will try and focus on the new game mode that I mentioned, and also co-op. And of course fixing bugs. This will hopefully go pretty quick, as co-op is almost finished as well.
Unlocks for the community
We've also come up with the idea to have the community unlock certain things by liking our Facebook page. This was a great success when you, the awesome community, unlocked the Gameplay video. The result of it was that we started seeing new faces appear, which is the whole point of making a game - to entertain people. Therefor, we have made this little list here where you can unlock screenshots, videos and also the official Cry of Fear release date. Simply all you have to do is enter our Facebook page and like it. We want you to spread Cry of Fear around, so we can hopefully give the whole world an evil heart attack by scaring them to death with this mod.

Too bad ive got Half Life 1: Source, this game looks pretty awesome, at least i can play "Nightmare House" thats scary enough O_O

Afraid of monsters DC
i have to critize this mod
first i must say THIS mod is one of few games that scared me, or hell id say this is only game thats really scared the s**t outta me , not to menion the psycholagical horror and mind f****d stuff that happen through out the game, i can easley say;in my opinion, scariest game ive ever played nuff said . F.E.A.R aint got s**t on this or silent hill in terms of horror. aom ftw
Story 9.5/10 story is simple but what counts is the s**that happens through out the game
Graphics 8/10 im not really a graphics hore but cant say there perfect.
Gameplay 9/10 i had much fun ,(well if c***ping my pants is considered fun XD) just veeeery minor complaints
Sound/Music 9.8/10 no comments, music.. just F****NG scary
Replayability 8.5/10 i must say , going throught all the endings was mind blowing and getting to the real ending was really satifactory (especially because of the super mega Haxx0rz weapon you get XD) i have to say ive beaten this game more than 10 times at least.
Overall 9.3 /10 amazing mod , amazing job id give you 10 but as you know perfeccion doesnt exist. well thats all not much to say that hasent already been said.
ps: cant wait for cof , you guys rock!
Played it again last night. Seemed to have a really big problem with finding ammo in the forest and the end of the city bit before that. Aside from that I still think it is pretty cool.

I'm 12, and when I actully got the balls to play it, I played it for 10-20 minutes and it was not scary.... Untill I reached a screamer that gave me nightmares D:
Have you tried playing the Director's Cut version? Much scarier than this.
Does this version include the need to find batteries for your flashlight?
Or is it unlike the DC version in which your flashlight can last forever?
all of the mods work without steam. at least this one did and 2 other did for me.
