AME Christmas Trailer 2004
Mar 11, 2006 Movies 0 commentsThis is our christmas trailer from 2004 which is mainly showing what we had done in Morrowind, the engine we had used before switching to its successor...
Adventure Middle Earth (AME) is a mod, in fact a Total Conversion, for the game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" by Bethesda Softworks. Our aim is to build JRR Tolkiens Middle Earth mainly known from the Lord of the Rings.
We are not making a Middle Earth game like to the ones which have already been made. We will neither only create parts of Middle Earth nor only make some adventures or campaigns for the player. We are creating whole of Middle Earth (from Lindon in the west to the sea of Rhûn in the east and from the Grey Mountains in the north to the River Harnen in the south) using the typical Elder Scrolls freedom giving the player countless options of playing the game. Some features and other information from the FAQ:
- 660 km² (Oblivion is about 42 km²)
- 7500-8000 real NPCs (not just dummies or orcs)
- 8 playable peoples each having its own story (altogether about 250 story-quests)
- 750 side quests
- grafical realisation of whole Middle Earth
- realisation of many battles of the War of the Ring
Our sources are the books of Tolkien himself, and not the films. We are trying to make a Middle Earth game Tolkien would actually like and about which one can say: "Yeah, this really is Middle Earth, worthy of Tolkien.". So that is our aim, and we hope to reach it. If you want to help us, just contact me (grabba@gmx.de). We need 2D- and 3D-Artists, no matter from which language. For textworkers or others we will only accept Germans, as we are a German mod.
A German Mod?! So not in English? Do not fear. We develop the game in German first and then translate it into English. Our homepage, right now, still is only available in German, but the English version will follow in the next weeks.
For any further questions just visit our website or post in the forums. I hope you enjoy and like our project.
P.S.: There have already been two other entries for our project here. The first one had been closed due to a change in game engine from Morrowind to Oblivion about a year ago and the second one has been taken over by a former teammember in favour of his own project.
The search is on to find the hottest mod of 2009, so if you
believe this is the one - vote for it. Everybody can vote all
they want, however, guest votes only count in the event
of a tie. For rules, prizes, movies & more - head on over
to the official 2009 awards page. Good luck to all!

The day has come: The first ingame material of AME is available - Screenshots of the terraform created by our heightmap. It has already been published exclusively at our new partner-site TES-Oblivion.de some hours ago, and now they can also be viewed here.
Along with the ingame screenshots the gallery is fit for service again - not yet entirely but almost. You cannot only see the new ingame-shots of the heightmap there, but also most of the other images.
The images from the heightmap are all from the region around the Blue Mountains in the northwest of Middle Earth. Furthermore it has to be said that this is not the final version but still WIP. Anyway it can give a good impression of what it will be like. When the landscape is eventually textured and filled with objects it will of course look much more alive. But for a first impression this should be enough.
Just visit the Gallery, and there best visit the section called Ingame-Screenshots. Those who want to tell us their opinion about the images may do this in the forums.
Enjoy the images

This christmas trailer from 2005 is showing much of what we have done to prepare our works with Oblivion. It is mainly about Concept-Arts, 3D-Models...

But how do we see what they've completed???
Maybe you should observe what they've already completed. You might change you're mind.
This mod sounds to good to be true. It also sounds like this mod will take years to complete. Though I always thought the LotR universe would be great on Oblivion. Good luck.
Anything that was in the books will be in this mod most likely, so yeah, it'll be interesting to see how they re-create the big battles ;)
Cant wait to play, so will there be all the battles out the films in there like the battle at hels deep and minas tirith,
Sorry for the double post, but here's the website for MultiTES IV, just in case someone else might be thinking along the same lines as I am ;)

What I would REALLY like is to have this mod be compatible with MultiTES IV. For those of you unfamiliar with this mod, it basically is a project that's making Oblivion multiplayer. The only release available is an alpha, which is pretty crude, but I still can't wait.
Imagine THIS mod mixed with multiplayer. I know it's a longshot, but maybe when MultiTES IV is a little less glitchy, this could be made possible. I'm having fun just thinking of exploring Middle Earth with 4 or 6 friends at a lan.
Hi there,
please please please make this append, it looks very great. It is my dream to walk freely around Middle earth.
Keep up the good work!
Sweet, sounds awesome
