"A travesty has befallen the sacred lands of our God Emperor. The despicable Ork tides have already taken the planet Tern and are now sweeping through the entire system. These foul creatures not only threaten the millions of inhabitants but take the Forges for their own perverse means. Should the Imperial Guard faulter, we shall stand firm. My brethren, it is our duty to cleanse these Xenos in the name of the Emperor. Never forget, never forgive." - Grand Master Uriel, briefing aboard Strike Cruiser Exheres Venia, Sanctus Sector. Game Features Two fully realized Warhammer 40K races - Space Marines and Orks. As many of you can see, the 8th Legion team has been striving to complete most assests, mainly models, before the engine is even out. The attitude the team has taken to the task is a direct and serious one. We realise that it does take more than a couple of years to release a good game and there is no sense in twiddling thumbs until the dev tools comes out. However, the team is still lacking in some departments so please do not hesitate to get in contact with us if you wish to help out. Getting into contact with us can be achieved in several ways. Either an Email or Private Message on our website's forums at 8thlegion.net or come onto our IRC channel listed in the side panel.
Latest News: Media section fixed on website
0 comments by Daikrisis on Mar 31st, 2007 digg this super bookmark Much thanks, and love, goes out to Ransico who has fixed the media section for all to view. In celebration, we're continuing to show case more high poly renders of the versatile Space Marine Drop Pod and ferocious Land Raider. I would like to point out that these high poly versions now replace the older models. For those you do not know, the Drop Pod allows Space Marine squads to strike almost anywhere with precision. Able to bring reinforcements in a matter of minutes, the Drop Pod will be crucial for keeping the pressure on opponents. And what cannot be said about the Land Raider? Arguably the heaviest, medium-sized tank in the known Imperium, it serves multiple roles including Anti-Vehicle, Anti-Infantry and Transportation. The only vehicle to be able to transport Terminators, the Land Raider strikes fear into all the enemies of the God-Emperor.

I would assume the rest of the detail will come fromt he textures...
We're waiting on final specifications released by Epic before we embark on 'eye candy'. These models may seem low poly but I can assure you, they have weight behind them.
The models you have made are all top notch and true to the game, but seem to be a bit low poly. Since this is the UT2K7 engine, consider adding a bit more detail to each, maybe? Unless you intend to add all of the detail through the textures.
ooh is this 40K mod ??? sweet :p
You guys are going to LOVE working with UE3 (UT2k7 sdk at least)! I'd love to see a fully fleshed out 40k mod for it, could be amazing. Good thing you guys are doing a lot of your modelling now so you can focus on level design, scripting and programming later.
Best of luck!
it could be a grate game. Go hard on it!
Good models.
Updates are up weekly every Saturday Australian Eastern Standard Time.
The unreal games have always been alot of fun and are usually the source of some fantastic mods and i dare say 2k7 won't be much different
More dakka than you can poke a big shoota at.
"If UT2007 hasn't even come out, how are you already developing a mod? I understand planning it out, but models and such, kinda early, don't you think?"
So the mod doesn't come out 2 years after the game has been released :P
