"A travesty has befallen the sacred lands of our God Emperor. The despicable Ork tides have already taken the planet Tern and are now sweeping through the entire system. These foul creatures not only threaten the millions of inhabitants but take the Forges for their own perverse means. Should the Imperial Guard faulter, we shall stand firm. My brethren, it is our duty to cleanse these Xenos in the name of the Emperor. Never forget, never forgive."

- Grand Master Uriel, briefing aboard Strike Cruiser Exheres Venia, Sanctus Sector.

As many of you can see, the 8th Legion team has been striving to complete most assests, mainly models, before the engine is even out. The attitude the team has taken to the task is a direct and serious one. We realise that it does take more than a couple of years to release a good game and there is no sense in twiddling thumbs until the dev tools comes out. However, the team is still lacking in some departments so please do not hesitate to get in contact with us if you wish to help out.

Getting into contact with us can be achieved in several ways. Either an Email or Private Message on our website's forums at 8thlegion.net or come onto our IRC channel listed in the side panel.

The models you have made are all top notch and true to the game, but seem to be a bit low poly. Since this is the UT2K7 engine, consider adding a bit more detail to each, maybe? Unless you intend to add all of the detail through the textures.

You guys are going to LOVE working with UE3 (UT2k7 sdk at least)! I'd love to see a fully fleshed out 40k mod for it, could be amazing. Good thing you guys are doing a lot of your modelling now so you can focus on level design, scripting and programming later.

Best of luck!

"If UT2007 hasn't even come out, how are you already developing a mod? I understand planning it out, but models and such, kinda early, don't you think?"

So the mod doesn't come out 2 years after the game has been released :P

Also with ut2007, it can be assumed that quite a lot of the scripting engine will remain similar to that of ut2004 - so much code planning can also take place beforehand. Essentially, there is still lots of work to do... even before the game is out :)
