Finally! The type of game you've always wanted to be able to play with a friend; Black Sierra is a cooperative horror survival game. A singleplayer horror experience designed specifically for 2-5 players. With an action packed gameplay, horrorific atmsopher, and an unknown enemy from the deep. Players will be pitted up against small groups of fast, agile and deadly creatures. Quick to take down, but hard to hit. Players will need to work together to make it through the various scenarios as they make it into dark forests, towns and more. Armed with high quality weaponary, such as the popular G36C, and M4 players will soon be required to scavenge civilian shotguns, rifles and pistols as ammunition is decreased.
Story:
High in the mountains of Black Sierra, recent mining activities have driven beasts of unknown origin from their underground lairs in fear. Unleashed upon the stocks of the secluded towns throughout the mountain, the creatures who have no reason to fear man spreads through the towns in a feeding frenzy. A few weeks later with various reports of missing persons, a team of Search and Rescue workers are sent up in a rescue effort, during a violent tranmission ending from the Search and Rescue workers, the county issues the mountain under unknown hostile attack. Your squad, a highly trained tactical unit from the state is sent up to the top of the mountain to rescue all personnel and eliminate the threat. After an encounter between your squad and the beasts, objectives are re-issued and it becomes your priorities to make it down the mountain alive. Reversing the usual process of making you start from the beginning and work your way to the end, Black Sierra sends you from the top to the bottom as you are sent from town to town to find any means of escaping the horrors alive.
Features:
- Lock and Load: With a vast range of real world weapons, both civilian and law enforcement related. These weapons will be balanced with the idea of realism, without forgetting what's fun. Weapons will feature various bonuses; iron-sights, red-dot, long lasting workable flashlights.
- Full-Out Atmosphere: Forests will be dense and dark, houses will be fully furnished, and towns will be desolate. Detail is the key, lighting, sounds, objects and more will all be detailed to give off a proper scare.
- Stare Death in the Face: Creatures that are faster than they are tough, quick to take down, but tough to hit. These creatures have the element of surprise and speed on their hands, with sharp talons and razorblade teeth the creatures of Black Sierra will lung, run, and stalk their prey (you!).
- A Playground of Death: With maps ranging from towns, to mines, and even to forests. We are sure you'll find a favourite map to go back.
- Full-Out Cooperative Play: No cheap gimmicks here, each and every map is designed for cooperative play, triggers, creatures, weapons, and more are all designed around the ability to play Black Sierra with friends. After all, cooperative play is a highly over looked experience, and we wish to bring that back.

A small, yet rather important overhaul is being conducted on Black Sierra to clear some things up when it comes to defining Black Sierra. The Moddb profile has been cleaned up, and rewritten for the most part to allow players to have more of an idea of what to expect out of Black Sierra and how it'll play out. In addition, an idea has been playing in my head, and I've decided to give it a chance to see how it plays out. In-between our monthly posts (if we make them on time that is) I'll be giving out some smaller updates every now and again sort of like this one, mainly just text based updates to describe different things being added and removed for Black Sierra, smaller things that won't be included in the large updates (well, for the most part). If the community responds well, they may get more detailed as we get further down the road. This would technically be the first one of them, and it's simply stating the overhaul that's taking place, and will be continued to flow for the rest of the week. As I was saying, the overhaul is here to enlighten the community more on Black Sierra, along with the Moddb profile being updatd, the forums activity will be increased, as some of you may know the forums haven't had much of a special purpose, but in the coming weeks more images of work in-progress will be posted, some polls will be initiated to get the communinity's opinion and the like. The website will be updated later down the road as'well.
I'd like to also mention, that even though our team is still getting things done, we could use a hand here and there. We are getting things covered, but production tends to bog down quite a bit at times, simply because we don't have the time to do it all at a fast paced. But don't let that bother you, Black Sierra won't stop production, and it'll continue forward. However, the positions that follow are still open.

I am definitely!!! following this mod. Great potential so far. Impressive work/progress too. I understand why some lose their faith. there is an endless trail of bragging and dead URLs to prove the REAL, full blown mod or total conversion community is dead.
I would like to request or make a suggestion to the guys behind Black Sierra - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make a small WEAPONS only mod for UT3.
I figure that should be easy since you will be doing that work any way. Your weapons are looking great. I hope they sound great too. I used to love running around in UT the way it was but with weapons like MP5s, AK-47s, Desert Eagles, and others with and without silencer and flashlight options. I really wish someone would do that for UT3 and do it well!
Very few mods these days are actually worth while following,
though it seems this mod has wonderful potential.
It's Mark Winteringham by the way :P You could just ask me! hehe
Ha, except I don't think you were on at like four A.M your time :p
Well move nearer to me then :P
LOL this is like the mod KF 2.5 and too S.T.A.L.K.E.R
i guess taht u took the idea mixing the games??
He's right, we aren't aiming for Black Sierra to be a mix of Killingfloor and S.T.A.L.K.E.R, it's going to be it's own feel.
No. We didn't.
Wow, just wow. This can't be a mod. There's no way...but seriously though, you guys are doing an amazing job with this. These screens and gun models look amazing. I had a little question/favor though. Do you guys plan on making it for the PS3 as well? You don't really have to "make" it, you just have to use the cooking tool Epic gave PC owners and cook the mod into the PS3 format so that it will run properly. I'm pretty sure you guys knew that though. So will you guys do this for us desperate, survival horror, ut3 mod crazy PS3 owners? I'd be overly ecstatic if you guys could. Thanks in advance!
Most likely we will.
