The film takes places in a surreal, technocratic future. Humanity has lost it's connection to the soil and lives in 'Skycities' high above the ground. They are supported by a network of bridges and their foundation is build on the cities below, which became over flooded and polluted in the past. One state has won the total war and dominates all others, turning humans into mere kegs in a machine. The remnants of that state's army are returning home after fighting a long and victorious battle. They get attacked by their own corporation's, next generation of advanced war machinery: Mechs.
The greater part of the human army is erased, but the few hundred survivors forge a plan how to take vengeance on their rulers and re-install order in the homeland. While millions of people have died, hundreds of thousands of robots were built and now humanity faces another fight, this time against its own creation and by another means than open war. What caused the post war trauma - the decay of human civilization and the rise of the robots - has yet to be uncovered.
Our hero doesn't want to be the hero, he doesn't even know he is one. His vendetta is of a personal kind, yet many will consider him the savior of humanity.
The story is a dedication to the great work of Isaac Asimov and Philip K. Dick in particular.

Great update :-)
Keep it up.
In fact we are working just like any movie-studio, which produces CGI-films. The only difference is we use a realtime-engine (Unreal3) and then dump the film into 60 frames a second. From the dumped bitmaps lossless video will be compiled, which will then be edited and voiced using professional editing software.
The only difference to e.g. "Finding Nemo" is really that we don't have to wait for our scenes to be rendered. We have the benefit of being able to correct and adjust everything, without having to wait for anything to be rendered. Much more comfortable than traditional CGI and much quicker!
So yes, you will be able to download or stream it - and playing it as a cutscene inside the engine may only be an alpha feature, because it won't have sound.
you still have to port animations and staticmeshes from 3Dmax or maya into the game and code them (either dynamic or statically)... thats no small task :P ...
sounds really cool :D
Is this going to be a machinima you are involved (like a walkthrough movie kinda like the HL2 cutscenes) in? or is it just going to be a movie? ...
because i don't have UT3 but i wanna see this when its done ...
Hey, thanks for commenting!
Maybe I shouldn't have put up these Rotoscope images... They are not a representation of our look, but proof the shader works. There are many areas for improvement and we did realize the problems (which is part of why we ran the test).
Next are our model(s)in-game with different shader settings. You can help us decide upon, which style you like the best!
Thanks for watching us!
P.S.: BunnyKinx - I hope you will find some satisfaction in our storyline, because while the setting is somewhat generic, the plot isn't.
his is different but deferentially not new or orignal.
infact the style that they are going for looks like something of the saga megadrive cd... cause of the limit on 256 colours back then. also since then many games have gone for variations on this kinda shader model. Cassern and 300 are just tiny examples.
personally i find the story idea bland and over used. but good luck all the more. try and prove me and the other haters wrong.
I noticed website on the outline of the plot you say men. But to be politically correct wouldn't you have women included in this as well? so it should be men and women? Nitpicking I know I'm just saying is all.....
Nice work SinKing and co!
The shader looks nice, but TKAzA has a point.
Still looks great on models that are not optimized for it.
Keep up the great work!
Indeed great stuff it will be used alot I'm betting.
