Star Trek Armada II Future Wars mod for

Story:
The action begins about 100 years after the events in "Star Trek: Nemesis".

By the innumerable wars those the Federation had in the past to present the original mission of the Federation to explore the space and to discover new worlds came into oblivion. Additionally the prime directive was given up. Beside that the actions of the Starfleet became ever more aggressively the federation had wars with nearly all races along the Neutral Zone.

Many ships of the Starfleet had much luxury in former times and were equipped with much research equipment. However, these ships were not too powerful. Therefore the command decided that almost all old ships have to be deactivated and become replaced by new battleships. Also many new weapons were introduced: transphasic torpedoes, i-mod phasers, quantum pulse and many other.

This development caused many Starfleet officers to turn away from the Starfleet and to join the Maquis. Many of the smaller races like the Ferengi and the Bajorans went to the Maquis and they won thereby enormously at power. Though the Maquis has set a new order for itself, it plans to bring again the Starfleet back to his old path and bring the peace back again in the Alpha Quadrant.

But the Starfleet has not only rearmed its military, also the Klingons and the Romulans did so. Both empires have developed new weapon systems and ships, both preparing themselves for the upcoming time of war..
Additionally, Maquis scouts have detected high activity of a well known enemy from the other side of the Bajoran wormhole. The reorganized Dominion has spotted another chance to gain control of the Alpha Quadrant...
