The Elder Scrolls: Mod Central, is now publiclly announcing our Total Conversion project, Derrar. The land layout is complete, only needs some Region Editing by me and anyone skilled in it, and we need additional landscapers, questers, modellers, and Interior designers (we are also looking for a couple people to work on some custom races for the new land). The Conversion takes place on a "fictional" (by fictional I mean, not going by lore) another Continent on the same planet that the Elder Scrolls takes place on. We are in need of additional modders for the task and would love to see some new faces at our guild, The Elder Scrolls: Mod Central. I will soon post some screenies of the first town the player will encounter, it is not near completion, but will at least prove that we are doing work .
STORYLINE:
The world seems to swirl as you come to after an unknown ordeal. As you really regain your standing you realize that you are in an appharently abandoned dungeon, in rags, and have no memory of your life, or who you are. There is only one man whom can currently help you out and explain, somewhat, what is going on, Gadik Fjamiir (Gadik Fyameer). He is a somewhat rough 'em up, tough loner kind of guy, a genuine rebel adventerer whom can be impatient at times and would rather kill someone who is bothersome, so he will not have to deal with them at a later time. He explains your current predicament and then you are off onto the well thought out chargen, which will not bore you, we promise. Due to giving out spoilers, we will not release any information about the Main Quest at this time. Currently we have decided to retain The Dark Brotherhood and will replace the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild with new, yet relatively the same types of guilds. The thieves guild is being pended on, due to the storyline, this may go either way. As I said before, we will post screenshots soon and will update them as work is done.
Project:Derrar is a Total Conversion mod now in developement by: The Elder Scrolls: Mod Central, it is a Total Conversion mod. The aim of Derrar is to create a completely new landmass, complete with cities, guilds, factions, quests, and characters, an entirely new (fictional in the TES universe) continent on the planet of Nirn. The landscape is now in development, such as the adding of grass, rocks, trees, and ambience, and the Chargen (Character Generation - Starter Dungeon) is being worked on now, looking to release it when it is finished as a sort of promo for the mod. The landscape of Derrar will feature a myriad of climates, including, but not limited to: Temperate, Tropical, Marsh, Wasteland, Polar, and even Underwater. This mod will combine an assortment of TES lore with new, richly developed, storyline to create a diverse and realistic Nirn continent. For those of you, including myself, who were disappointed at the rather dry and lacking roleplaying element of Oblivion, you need not worry, for Derrar will bring back a lot of the features (not skills, unless a programmer would like to help) from Morrowind that we all loved. We are also planning more rich developed and intertwined storyline to Derrar. By intertwined I mean for instance, when you are in the Mages guild, all you and the people there talk about is Magick, even though there is an Oblivion crisis occuring, Derrar will give a more Roleplaying feel to it by spreading the dialogue out a bit, as this will give the feeling of a more "united" world (versus a Mages Guild World, DB world, etc, ...). Also, since the Oblivion crisis is a world event (in the storyline) it will affect the entire world a lot more, not only the Main Quest, but will mess with a lot of the Guilds and their business, along with being a constant nuisance in the Main Quest.
