The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war a decade or so earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Empire against the German Empire, however with the release of Opposing Fronts the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as the French.
This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable.
Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instill fear into the enemy troops.

Hello!
On first place I´d like to explain why it takes so long for us to post new updates.
We a have a firm policy about no release un-skinned models or incomple stuff.
The updates will come when we have something to show and, here it is!
The German Gas Mask
User Posted Imageç
Well,this item is self-explanatory!
But we will tell you how it works on CoH:
-At the main HQ you can develop the gas mask upgrade, then, almost every infantry squad will be able to switch it on/off.
While it is on certain gas such tear gas or chlorine won´t affect your soldiers (mustard gas is a special case, gas mask won´t stop it) and the soldiers LoS and accuracy will go down.
Have a nice day!

This video shows off the tunelling ability the Royal Engineers will be able to use. These explosives will be able to be detonated remotely, much like...

Finally, a mod that looks cool is on the path of the rolling thunder. Keep up the good work.

The mod is still moving forwards.
There might be a change of forums, so if anyone is visiting them, thats just a heads up.

We're taking suggestions at the forum, so if there is something which comes to mind when you think about WWI give us a shout and we'll see what we can do.

The team we have is dedicated and working hard to publish the mod.

I'll hopefully get updates coming regularly, so check back often.

Nice to see a CoH WW1 mod that actually seems to be serious. Keep the updates rolling out.

What are you talking about?
I'm pretty sure we're making a WWI mod. I'm pretty sure WWI started 1914 and ended in 1918. If not, correct me, please.

My only comments so far are for you to seriously check the historical accuracy of several of your uniforms and weapons. The Mauser G98 was considerably longer than the Mauser K98k, and the uniforms used in the First World War were a different cut, colour and material (different blend of wool) than those in the Second World War. Your Machine Gunner, Sniper and Officer look like they are straight out of 1939 (of special note are the peaked cap of the officer, which in WWI was a different shape, and the bulky cotton like oversmock of the Gunner and Sniper, a purely WWII invention). I know they may just be placeholders, as may be the weapons but please, do remember to go back and get them right.

Otherwise its just WWII with a load of trenches. If thats what you were after, maybe you should have done Stalingrad or Kursk. However if you want to do a historically accurate 1st World War RTS, then you need to get the protagonists right. I know the Germans are tricky to get right, as are some elements of the British uniform, but, its worth it.

Hang in there!! If you need any information or reference pictures, I am an experienced WWI reenactor, so just send me a PM.

As you said,kar98 is a placeholder.
Also,we can´t edit soldiers model at this moment,we are waiting for the OE but it is true that we need to give them proper helmets and gear.
We already have that stuff made but we can´t show them ingame working properly but you will be please when we get the Objects Editor
