Mod News

With our recent announcement of our move to crysis, things have been quite hectic here to say the least, with Christmas, New Year and the news that we will be seeing the SDK release sometime in January brings excitement to us and everyone else I’m sure.
I’m pleased to confirm that our website is almost ready to be re launched and it won’t be long now until we have something up, on top of this we also have had three new talented individuals join the team, which has really strengthened our position and future.

Media

So on with the pictures, and bellow you will see a small update of what we have been doing for the past few weeks.

Albertosaurus Sarcophagus

Name: Albertosaurus Sarcophagus (meaning "Alberta Lizard")

Size: 9 meters long, 10-12 feet tall and weighing in at 1 to 2 tonnes

Basic Facts

Albertosaurus was a large carnivore living in North America in the Late Cretaceous period. This dinosaur is part of the family of Tyrannosaurides, having the same short, two fingered forearms and a massive head such as other Tyrannosaurs. Albertosaurus has more teeth than other Tyrannosaurides, having 60 large, serrated, banana shaped teeth in its massive jaws. The long tail of Albertosaurus helped balance the heavy weight in the front of the animal’s body. Unlike Tyrannosaurus Rex, Albertosaurus did not have massive growth spurts and instead stayed mostly the same weight in its adolescant years into its adult years. Albertosaurus gets most of its height from its long, slender legs. These legs would have allowed it to run at speeds exceeding 40 Km/H, making it a speedy predator. The main prey of Albertosaurus was hadrosaurs and possibly ceratopsians.

Characteristics

There is fossil evidence that suggests Albertosaurus was a pack hunter, living in packs of up to 10 animals. A fossil bed was discovered that has uncovered 10 Albertosaurs living in close contact. These packs were probably family packs, and all animals were related. Albertosaurus lived in the same enviroment as many hadrosaurs, probably hunting the animals in small groups using flanking techniques and outnumbering a certain hadrosaur. To avoid being outnumbered by these large carnivores, travel in groups or squads and if one does attack, don't be hesitated to take a shot at it.

Deinonychus Antirrhopus (meaning

Name Deinonychus Antirrhopus (meaning "Terrible Claw")

Size: 3 meters long, 4-6 feet high, weighing in at 60 kilograms (130-150 lbs)

Basic Facts

Deinonychus was a Dromeosauride living in North America during the Early Cretaceous period. Deinonychychus, along with most Dromeosaurides, bore a sickle shaped killing claw on each hind foot. The 5-inch claw was used to stab into vital areas of its prey, such as the neck or heart, to suffocate the animal till death. The claw likely was in the air when the animal was running, to keep it from dulling and hitting the ground when on the move. The tail of Deinonychus has special bones and joints to make the tail act as a stabilizer and to keep tail straight when the animal is running. The main diet of Deinonychus was Hadrosaurs.

Characteristics:

There is fossil evidence that suggests Deinonychus was a pack hunter, using the superiority of numbers to take down large prey. Much like wolves, there would be an Alpha male and Alpha female in a pack, with the alpha animals in control of the rest of the pack. Most Deinonychus packs would consist of about 4 to 6 animals. There would be a strict pecking order for food, with the alpha dinosaurs eating first. Deinonychus was a very quick animal, running at speeds of up to 50 Km/H. Since some dinosaur species were very closely related to birds, it is not impossible to imagine Deinonychus may have bore feathers. There is a lot of evidence to suggest Deinonychus was a warm blooded creature. To avoid being ripped apart by these quick predators, watch all your fronts, and stay squads and groups.
