The Resonance Cascade Scenario at the Black Mesa Research Facility heralded a dark age for humanity. The portal storms that occured as a result of it opened a gateway into the border world. The Xen portals that open from the temporal rift caused countless millions of Xen creatures to pour out onto Earth. The countryside was quickly overrun and people flocked to the cities for refuge. The military is a prominent force controlling hard points in order to keep out the Xen hordes, but the attack wasn't an invasion, that was merely coincidental. Something much worse is coming.
The Seven Hour War is about to begin...
You play as a city garrison soldier in a gritty singleplayer campaign against impossible odds. Lead your squad through the war torn streets of an opressed metropolis as you try to defend thousands of civilians, standing as their last hope.

Over the past 12 or so months the Seven team has been working day and night (mostly day) to get some top quality content to our now numerous fans. I remember a time when I’d count 15 watchers and feel great when a 16th person decided to check us out. Multiply that by 10 and we have roughly the number of people who took a little time out of their day to see what we’re up to. Cheers. Well away from that, I’m sure our subjects would love to know what exactly has been going on. Well, for a start a few reorganisations have been going on inside the team, this leaves a few open spaces (particularly in Level Design) so any budding fans wanting to lend a hand is much appreciated. Contact information can be found on our brand new website and at the bottom of this news article. We’d also like to announce that we are hiring freelancers (sounds cool huh?) which are essentially team members who are unable to dedicate a lot of their time to the mod but would nonetheless like to give long time contribution to the mod. Contact the relevant people if you’re interested. You remember the industrial area that went through several revamps? Well I’m sure you will all be heartbroken to hear of its timely demise and its transformation into a council estate which frankly looks better and is better lain out. I’m quite proud of it, especially when compared to my older work. Mr. Sugar is now working on a war torn street, which is still very WIP so there’s not worth showing right now. Thirdly a previously unmentioned mapper, Manik, has been working on the forest driving mission with some quite promising results. Level Design is, unfortunately, a very slow process so we can always do with some help (hint hint). Modelling is well underway with several props and weapons now complete by our talented modellers, led by Slocik . But the truly kick ass weapon models would of course be impossible without our Concept Artist, Soundpath, who has once again created some brilliant concepts and contributed massively to the mod itself. Coding has also made some strides and we have a number of WIP codes implemented into the game so far to prove that we do, in fact, have a coder. Co-Leaders Anthony Žoha (Mr.Sugar) and James Booth (James Booth) have been excellent people and would also like to say something in this, our 3rd Media update:
Hey everyone, Im Mr.sugar and I would like to say we are at last in stages, when our mod is getting some shapes and team getting organised more then ever. The fact we have a bunch of cool members which actually doing something making me very pleased and I see our future very optimistic. Im in Seven from very early stages and this mod has changed so much. First time, it was just very small project without any endeavours to make bigger changes in gameplay and content. Hovewer, as other memebrs joined us, they brought some great ideas and help us with some cool features, immersive storyline and many other things. As for me, im working really hard on my chapter, as JB said above. Yes, it is still in early stages, but basic layout of the whole chapter is done now and im just focusing it for gameplay to make map suitable for huge battle with maybe a lot of enemies. The hard thing is it must be playable on all four difficulty levels, so it is taking a bit more time than I expected... Jb mentioned we are hiring freelancers. let me give you small motivation to join this group. The three most productive members will pass to closed betatest of Seven. Do not miss your chance! I guess you noticed we are still on our old forums. Unfortunately, our new forums are still in very early stages, so we must use old ones. Hopefuly, we will launch new boards very soon, just be patient. Well, I thing that is all from me. Lets take a look to bunch of new media and enjoy!
Hello All, I am James Booth and as you know from above, 7EVEN has been moving in leaps and bounds; and development has started to really kick off. I have myself watched as the team has grown into a well oiled machine which runs systematically. On the forums alone, anything can turn from an idea, to a concept and then to a finished model. The amount of effort put in by our team is amazing, and I think that everyone on-board should be given a round of applause. However, all of this could not have been possible if it were not for one man. I think that Jim Braithwaite, our Mod Leader, is the cornerstone of this project. He founded 7EVEN and even to this day, spends nearly every day on the project with myself and Mr. Sugar. I and the rest of the team give Jim our utmost respect and ask that he continues working with us on this project.
Myself and Jim have recently sat down and decided to write up an entire storyline for 7EVEN, which will begin very shortly. Up until now, we have been working off of a flimsy frame of ideas and a basic storyline, but we plan to bring in rich characters, full of personality along with a gripping plot that should span over many hours of game-play. Just to give you all a taste of this, we have a small piece of the script for you all to enjoy:
Chapter 1
The houses were lines of apartments arranged along a cracked blackening road. Very few cars were along the street, any that were still around were battered beyond usage and the precious fuel either removed by the military or scavenged by regular people for an hour’s warmth and a heated can of preserved food. The street was silent. No dogs barking and no people talking, only the dry rustling of bushes as the wind blew through their dead branches. A can fell off a wall clattering on the pavement and rolling slowly into a grimy, leaf strewn gutter. The rumble of a truck came from down the road, almost shaking the neglected street as its wheels rolled towards the buildings. The brakes squeaked to a halt and the truck rocked slightly from side to side as a number of soldiers jumped out, each similarly armed and garbed. They wore thick Kevlar jackets over dark green blood splattered uniforms. Most of them wore woolly fingerless gloves as protection against the harsh winds that had come with the autumn winds. Some of them also wore woolly hats but all of them had a gasmask slung around their necks and, any who weren’t wearing one, a helmet strapped behind their shoulders. Each of them had a rifle; an L85A2.
The soldiers looked up at the tenement buildings to see most of the windows had been boarded up, covered with metal panels or had plastic sheets stretched over them. The soldiers split into two groups and trudged towards entrances on both sides of the street. Inside the tenement buildings was little better than outside. The lights were very dim to conserve energy but the stains along the walls and floor could be seen still. The hallway smelt damp and a thin film of some dust or smoke filled the place. The team split up once again into pairs and spread throughout the building...
Aah you gotta love those guys... Anyway that about wraps up the media update. Anybody who read that all the way through I’m sure are now well schooled on the workings of the mod... or not. Anyway, the team deserves a good break but with any luck you’ll be hearing from us again quite soon.

(buried)
this mod just looks horrible. Nothing about it even seems remotely related to half-life, and aside from the poor quality of the work in the screens and noting in the news or descriptions seem the least bit appealing save for being set during the Seven Hour War.
I agree with sugar and jimmy don't slag what you don't know give it a chance but aside from that comment this looks good and it shows the original like they have not made best technology since well its hard to say and describe but its great
Like Sugar says, this is the early stages for the mod so right now there's not gonna be much orginal content like textures and models and stuff. I respect your opinion but don't be a twat and start insulting people's work, if you don't like what we've done then that's fine but don't be a complete asshole about it. Not cool.
You really think, that bugme_not has enough smartness to think with his own brains?
If yes, you have really overestimated him.
Man, it is related to HL. How do you know it isnt? Have you played it? Nope. Maybe it looks totally different from HL, because its set into Great Britain, so you cant expect it will look like City17. Also, those levels are from early stages, when we are not using any new textures or models, so it will look different.
holy crap this looks amazing
Great
dont kno why people are worrying about the word "gritty" i love fps with iron sights yayy! ill be downloading.
