The aim of the Special Air Service Module (SASMOD) is to create realistic and authentic UK Special Forces units for Armed Assault. As well as the units, we will also provide the weapons, vehicles and equipment to accompany them.
Some units you can expect to see from us are the Special Air Service, her sister unit the SBS, the Special Forces Support Group and Special Reconnaissance Regiment. In addition to the models themselves, we are also planning on creating terrain based on real world locations derived from Digital Elevation Models imported into the Engine.
With quite a few years real life military experience behind our project our ultimate aim is a high level of accuracy on all content developed. We will most certainly aim for quality rather than quantity.
The SASMOD project is not a full modification of ArmA, but rather an addon module containing everything you need to experience life as a UK special forces soldier without having to pass selection!

I think the dudes with the gas masks are a seperate SAS unit that is trained like SWAT.
You are correct in thinking that; some units of SAS are attached to the army, while others focus on counter-terrorism, more often it is their sister - service the SBS (special boat squadron) that do the frontline work nowadays.
As with any SAS, dont forget the gas masks :D
Silly. The SAS don't use their SF-10s (the gas-masks) all the time. For Armed Assault, especially, it'd be more essential and realistic/accurate for them to be wearing DPM camouflage and possible beanies or other protective hoods and huge backpacks. :)
