Half-Life 2 mod | Released May 3, 2008
Jailbreak is modification for Half-Life 2, it's simple: Two teams, two jails. When you kill a member of the opposite team, they respawn, locked up inside your jail. When a member of your team is killed, they respawn inside the enemy jail.
Your objective is to imprison every member of the enemy team. The twist is, you can break out members of your own team, by fighting your way to the enemy jail and opening the doors! The game goes back and forth until one team is entirely locked up, the losers executed (in a variety of customised ways) then the next round begins!

So today, we finally reveal one of the new core features of Jailbreak 0.4, and it's something we're quite proud of! Below you will find six new pictures from last nights beta test, one of which shows off the custom perks selection screen... Look out for the new Rebel Rifle and Rebel SMG too!
Again, for the final week, please be aware that the HUD is still in a temporary state and is being finished up for next week!
So what exactly are perks all about? The concept is simple: You earn points, as explained last week, and using these points you can buy one of twelve perks, combining these perks together creates a custom class... So, you wanna be an double jumping medic? You can! Invisible and accurate heavy weapons guy? Check. Want to spawn in Jail with a weapon? No problem.
Balance issues you say? Each perk is seperated into levels, only attainable by gaining more points, and only one perk is allowed per level. Alongside this each perk is balanced to provide a defence or offence against another perk. So if the enemy team are using Stealth; buy Awareness and you can see them! Problem solved.

Is there supposed to be major flaming lag? Or is it just me?
Probably just you! Are you connecting from the US? There are some East Coast/West Coast servers, but they go up and down throughout the day.
No lag for me, and none complained about on the servers in general, except when pings are high.
Yeah, I think I just connected to the wrong servers. I'll try and wait for a 50 ping server sometime today on the west coast.. Also, I'm on PMSing Vista, so that may be part of the problem.

I'm gonna try this for the first time, looks interesting.
Gots a bug. I was playing on the map metropolis, the combine team was being executed, and during the time i checked the scores. It crashed. Fix please!
Hey Ghostrider, we've fixed a few issues by releasing a server patch tonight to the Official servers, and it's been very successful so far, so tomorrow we're releasing it to the other servers... There's no need for you to download anything, as it's a server side patch! It fixes a few crashes and bugs.
It also adds Lockdown mode, which is a new system to stop really long rounds occuring due to base swapping!
This mod is really fun! for me it's best of April!
Aye, I never lag either, but then I guess it's down to the server, your own ping, how far the server is from you, and how many other players have low pings... A lot of different elements affect lag, and blaming the mod is the easy way out! :D
i cant understand peps say the servers are laggy . i never lagged in jailbreak so far. love the mod guys ;)!
