Half-Life 2 mod | Released May 3, 2008
Jailbreak is modification for Half-Life 2, it's simple: Two teams, two jails. When you kill a member of the opposite team, they respawn, locked up inside your jail. When a member of your team is killed, they respawn inside the enemy jail.
Your objective is to imprison every member of the enemy team. The twist is, you can break out members of your own team, by fighting your way to the enemy jail and opening the doors! The game goes back and forth until one team is entirely locked up, the losers executed (in a variety of customised ways) then the next round begins!

It's out, it's proud and it seems like everyone is lovin' it! We've had plenty of full servers all week, with great events, brilliant players and loads of fun had by all. We thought we'd summarise it here, so read on to find out about Jailbreak: Source 0.4: The first week!
Custom Mapping:
Jailbreak: Source 0.4 seems to have really inspired people to get mapping, and to our amazement, fourteen custom maps are currently nearing completion! So we got our collective butts in gear, and sorted out some Jailbreak Mapping Packs for all the rest of you budding mappers to sink your teeth into. Make sure to visit our website to check out some pictures of the upcoming maps!
Mapping, Textures and Model Packs:
- Texture and Model Mapping Pack (inc. Above files plus all the textures and models from 0.4!)
- Standard Mapping Pack (inc. FGD, Example VMF, Full Guide and w_models)
Events & Tournament:
We've held several fantastic events this week, including two Teamwork Nights and a Developers Night, all of which went down brilliantly, especially the Teamwork Events, which saw everyone working together fluidly as a team, moving as one, healing each other, providing covering fire and mounting daring rescue attempts! We're also going to be starting a tournament soon, so sign up on our forums! Here's a few pictures from the nights.

Server Patch & Lockdown Mode:
We released a small server patch during the week, which has fixed a lot of the stability problems experienced and also added a completely new mode: Lockdown!
- Jailbreak: Source 0.4 - Server Patch (Clients do not need this file)
This mode is designed to stop the exceedingly long rounds caused when both teams swap bases, by shutting down the release buttons after a certain amount of time has passed during a single round. It works really well too! You ONLY need to download this file if you're running a server, ignore it if you just want to play, as the server takes care of the rest!

Hey guys, I'm thinking about DLing this mod, are there any good servers in Europe (Austria,Germany, Czech rep., Italy, Hungary &c...)?
There's LOADS of European Servers my friend! Plenty good ping for those areas :D

You guys REALLY need to work on balancing the weapons and maps.
Worry not my friend, the upcoming patch will fix the imbalances. It's a public beta after all, the only way for us to find out what works and what doesn't, is to release it and see what happens :D
