Warm Gun: The Second Coming of the Wild West
A futuristic wild west, Warm Gun combines the favorite motifs of the classic western genre with the scraps of an obliterated technocracy.
World War III has been fought to the tipping point and ecologists’ long unheeded cries have been silenced by the grim truth of their predictions. To the last drop of oil have the world’s resources been depleted, and only sporadic traces of modern structure can be sifted in the dust. Time ticks forward but humans must retrace their advancement back, through a history that has already been lived and to the Wild West for the second time around. We have trampled ahead to the past in muddy boots, to the United States of late 19th century. Greeted by the ghost of the wide-open country, the exhausted land is barren too, of all the old dreams we fulfilled beyond our means.
This spun western lets you create your own one-of-a-kind characters and unique gangs; choose from weapons new and strange and a wider range of modern contraptions with primitive power. Classic and innovative, undoubtedly original, every FPS player will find happiness with Warm Gun.
Stay Tuned...
JC

Here is another Friday update from your dedicated Warm Gunners...
We are doing weekly play tests and the stuff is really coming together. There will be new videos posted later this weekend, we have some test animations for the weapons as well as video footage from in-game.
Here are a couple shots of DM-Overgrown, these are still early production shots but you can get a feel for the atmosphere.
Here are some other concepts...there are model shots and just level concepts... Next weeks update will be more hefty and you will get a better feel for the new content.
You can view more concept work in our image section here on mod DB...
Once again thanks for all the support...oh and we are getting an entire new website so expect some more great stuff in the near future.

I cannot wait for this to come out. This and Southern Rise are the only reason I'd buy UT3
This is aboslutely nuts (in a nice way)...
I thought for a period, that this was dead, as there went a long time by with no updates... but the new character sheets... they are just... awesome... so much looking forward to this !!!
you know, everytime i see this mod i can't help but think of this music video:
Youtube.com ;) ...
can't wait to see the first models 8)
Actually I was responding to what Assaultman67 said.
You must be on the mod with us then Bob, are you one of the new artists we havent met yet?
you misunderstood me... i meant that we are still primarily in a conceptual phase, not that we are incapable of producing content.
Well we're about to get Roboblitz set up and I've been modeling since the early days of this mod, we just havent shown them off yet.
well, i would assume that you guys could start making models ... as long as you guys are using a main stream 3D modeler (definitely later versions of 3D max ... probably Maya as well) ... and as for textures ... i would imagine that you could start working on textures for models as well ... as long as you use Multi/Sub object ...
the games release hasn't phased the mod Absolution in producing model materials ...
And if you get really impatient you could get Roboblitz for PC which is made with the UT3 engine and has the modding tools ... the files would be the same type (mostly anyway) and it would transfer relativley easily ...
as for being interested, im interested ... but im not sure if i want to join ... I may start my own mod or join some freinds to make a mod ...
we are still in early development, ie. a primarily conceptual phase. yes, we have members, and yes, they have experience in the gaming industry. in perfect honesty, we are not at a place to begin building levels or texturing models, although talented modelers are always a good thing. send us an e-mail if you're interested :)
this mod looks pretty cool and im looking for a UT3 mod in which i can join to work on and am thinking about asking to join this one ... im have some experience making textures, making levels, sourcing sounds, and making models but before i officially ask ...
Do you have any team members other than yourself? :/ Do you have any modding experience? :| ...
Artistic drawings can get people excited about a mod ... but it would be a miracle to get a mod started without any experience already dedicated before the idea is even posted on Moddb or sites like it :warning: ...
