Barney's Tales is a total conversion of the original Half-Life Blue Shift add-on. Source Engine, used in mod, will allow us to visit the world of the scary Black Mesa Research Facility once more. Security officer Barney Calhoun, undecided major, was going on his first shift in a research facility. He put on his uniform, got his Glock-18 in the armory and set out for the Sector 3. Suddenly, Barney felt an explosion and the lift he was going by fell down. Next thing he saw when consciousness returned was a strange alien creature tearing a scientist. With the personnel and security officers at his side Barney must escape the Black Mesa before it becomes a blazing crater...

I wish to inform you with pleasure that the new version of our website is working properly at last and you won’t be staring at a stupid “Coming Soon” inscription anymore. Unfortunately, working on it is not finished yet, and there are some lacks which will be corrected in the nearest future. But I wanted to draw your attention not only to the site. Since the last updating in August, 2007 so much has happened in life of Immersion Mod Studio. There were both rises and fallings. It would be desirable to tell, that during the last year we have pretty grown as a development team. We have established release deadlines (currently, Q4 2008 - Q1 2009), have finally shared the jobs in project; have begun content improvement. So good luck to us!
Within this summer there was a new rise, but by the end of year the project was suffering from the new recession. The forum was not updated, and other developers kept silence. In December we decided to make reorganization. But, it happens, everything ended right after discussion, and instead some of benevolent players began to criticize. The modification went on going down lower and lowers...
And then something important happened: we were woken up and given new stimulus for working. Thanks to ModDB site and their annual award MOTY - somehow the project has made its way into the second phase of voting (top 100), and moreover, it was brought to the top five finalists. Now I declare with pride, that Blue Shift: Source has taken the third place in “Best Unreleased Mod”! Certainly, without votes of our western fans nothing would turn out, so thank you guys!
Having learned about nomination, we decided to prepare a large enough update which, as you see, includes new screenshots and renders, absolutely new website, and even a couple of tracks from our composer!
Only registered members can share their thoughts. So come on! Join the Mod DB community today (totally free) and do things you never thought possible.
Will this be released by summer 08? I hope.
YAY
You guys should team up with Black Mesa Source.
Why? Their stuff is just as good or better!
Think of it this way; the development process goes faster for both mods when two teams are working on a project which mainly have the same assets. Each modification can use each others assets, both mods are released in half the time, us players have something awesome to play sooner.
I don't know about you but I'd like to play one of these awesome mods before 2009.
Take off your pink glasses. This would never happen. We are two different mod's with different styles and gameplays. We don't have nothing to share with bm and so they are. And especially we'll be fine without their assets. :D Gl to them, but please stop talking about "team up".
Would I be bold to say, it actually looks better then black mesa source!
i just agree with you...
that would be pretty bold yeah.. i mean, the weapon models look great, but the maps are no where near those of black mesa src.
Come on guys, you'd better discuss new media than decide which mod's better!
Coo update. However it would be cool to show us other chapters and not just Insecurity... Its little repetetive
(currently, Q4 2008 - Q1 2009)
Incredible work, only problem in existence of that publication is with the hall. The textures are incredibly well done, but the desk area, and the texture used on the surface of the desk is also a little, out of place. I would suggest redoing that piece. Also, the second floor seems a little...bland. You have tables and chairs, but where is the vending machines dispensing cans crisps? Where is the mix of textures that were used on the first floor on there? As you look up it goes from colourfull to dull, please god improve that balcony!
