Wheels of War
With Wheels of War, we want to bring back the awesome feeling when playing Carmageddon all those years ago - the initial racing, the wasting of other cars, collecting power-ups, insane stunts and running over zombies. There will be powerups/powerdowns, a credits system, upgradable cars (via armour, offensive, and engine characteristics), checkpoint style racing (i.e, ability to roam), destructable cars, and a stunts system. Note that this is not a port/clone or rip of Carmageddon. We are taking it's single player concept, evolving it to multiplayer, and creating a whole new environment for it to exist in.
A game design document has been released to the public on the website focusing on our Free For All Campaign game mode here.
We have many other modes planned, but our first alpha release will focus on this one.
Features of Interest (Note: All are not available yet, but will be implemented in due course):
Partial Changelog:
Maps:
* Race Mode Maps Added:
o Valley
o Slipgate
* Quarry 3rd checkpoint (small) indicator lamp brought closer to main checkpoint as it did not reflect the checkpoint trigger point correctly.
Vehicles:
* Added Optimus Crime SKULLS!
* Added Waroeels
* Added Wee-Evil
* Vehicle handling (hopefully) improved a bit
wowGameRulesDMCampaign:
* No Changes.
wowGameRulesRace:
* Initial Version.
* Ranked stats servers.
* Hud shows current time, best lap, last lap.
* Hud shows number of completed laps, instead of current lap as per DM mode.
* Scoreboard shows best lap instead of XP.
* Vehicles do not collide with each other.
* No credits awarded for laps/checkpoints.
* Powerups are disabled.
Ranked Stats Servers:
* si_wowStatsGUID
* si_wowGSPLicence
* Ranked Server cvars are not locked, but if they do not conform to regulations then stats are simply not sent.
* Only Dedicated Internet Servers and lan servers which have forced auth.
Website:
* Stats Centre for global and per-server race laps.
* GSP centre for adding and modifying server details.
* GSP Licence Request area.

Hello moddb.com folk!
We have a special interview now up at the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Official Community Site! In the interview Splashdamage's Ed 'BongoBoy' Stern asks about our respective backgrounds, the beginnings of Wheels of War and how development has been progressing.
Also included are some new snippets of information regarding gametypes and gameplay features which will be added to the modification. We even give out some advice to other people considering starting their own mod teams, based on our own experience.
The last thing to mention is that within the interview text there is one in-game screenshot featuring a zombie, and also a textured render. Our new animation fanatic 'madNORMan' has been hard at work rigging up and getting these zombies doing what they do best: look completely stupid! These are the first public teaser shots of our zombies and hope you like them.
If you have any more questions after reading it, you can leave comments on our own forums at Wheelsofwar.co.uk or on the ET:QW community site.

NSCXP2005: We will not be developing bots. We want to concentrate on pure online multiplayer, as we believe it is here where the most scope for fun resides.
with this mod can you play it with bots?
That would be so cool for people who don't like playing online.
dealman: the in-game model (drived from the 1.64 Million one as to not loose detail) has only 6,033 triangles! All the in-game renders are using this low-poly model. It will run fast :)
Thanks for all the support!
Hypestem you said: "I am so gonna buy QW:Enemy Territory now !"
It's "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars" :P
Also that cobra is like 1 million polys, wouldn't that make a lag fest when ingame? :/:/:/:/
Awesome models been seeing your posts on qw forums. Keep it up, can't wait.
OMG this is gonna be so awesome a mod ;)
I am so gonna buy QW:Enemy Territory now !
Holy sweet awesome! Looking forward to this one!
it is 1.64 Million polys, the low poly model has 6,033 and an in-game quake 4 render can be seen in our gallery.
Shit nice model there. How many polys? Also it will be pretty hard to unwrap? :P
at a british lan event, there was an enemy territory presentation ( where i was lucky enough to win a ET hoody :D ) and they showed wire maps, and went on about how they had a different way of doing it, with teh detail of a high poly model on a low poly creation :S you aware of this?
