Star Wars: The New Era is the first large Star Wars modification made on a next generation engine. It is produced by Invision Games, a group of modders and Star Wars fans that have evolved from the Movie Battles 2 community and a mod team working on "Star Wars: Source" before. Star Wars: The New Era will give you a tense multiplayer experience for all flavours. Engage in quick Deathmatch battles, fight as a Jedi using the Force or use strategic teamplay in the Team Assault mode.

We are happy to introduce our first batch of player models to you. Today's update covers the player models from the era of the Clone Wars. Having your server set to Clone Wars, you will be able to play as Battledroid or Clonetrooper in the CIS or Galactic Republic factions. Our modelers and texture artists DT, Paradox and Retro-Cow have been working very accurately to give you a very authentic Star Wars experience in-game.
And here, you can see the result. The shots below show the actual game models and textures.
Stay tuned as we will also present the player models of the Imperial era in the near future!

I know Star Wars is essentially a clean look, but the battledroid and phase 1 clonetrooper textures could be grunged up like the phase 2 has been. The modeling is good though.
We'll add some visual diversity through multiple skins in the future. While the Clonetroopers (especially phase 1) do have a very unified look, they can be distinguished by adding a 'worn' look as well as the various commando colors.

Nice. It may just be then renders but those skins are looking rather matte. I hope they'll be more specular in-game.
What's the polycount on these by the way?

Yeah, specularity looks quite a bit different, but it always depends on the map. In some places, they look matte, in other places more shiny.
Looks really good!! Maybe some starwars games from lucas arts does not go so well, but mods like "First strike" and "The new era" looks really good. The force is with the modders! :D

That's just one skin variation, you can be sure to see more patterns in the future.
