Nuclear Dawn is a modification for Valve’s Source engine that combines visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war. You can choose the mission or lead the attack as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your team to use.
You can storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows and rely on your active camouflage as a stealth, or unleash terrible firepower from a powered suit of exo-armor. You have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Although we have been around for a long time, this mod is still in active development, and the development team is breaking its collective back on getting this mod to you as soon as possible. Stay tuned !

You may have noticed the forums are currently offline. We're not exactly sure what happened, but due to a server problem the forums were garbled and we're currently in the process of restoring them to their former glory. This shouldn't be misinterpreted as inactivity, though. Nuclear Dawn is still being worked on as we speak and the Christmas period should see us move up a gear to take advantage of the extra hours away from work and other commitments.
All of the forum data has been retained so no threads or posts have been lost. However, one of the tables has been lost (the one that tells vBulletin which threads go in which forum). Basically, we're having to painstakingly move all of the 2,700 threads on the forums back to their rightful forum... manually! I spent two and a half hours on this yesterday and I can tell you that, other than being a pleasantly nostalgic trip down memory lane, it's not a fun task. Nevertheless we're determined to bring the forums back up as soon as possible for the good of our loyal community and fanbase.
As you can imagine this is taking some time but we plan to be back up within the next few weeks. Please bear with us during this time and if you haven't already seen it, please follow this link to watch a full preview of nd_russia by Robert Briscoe. If you like what you see, you know what to do! It'd be great to see ND listed in the 'Best Upcoming Mod' category in this year's MOTY awards, and I'm sure it'd mean a lot to the team who have put so much of their time into ND to see their efforts recognised by the gaming public. :)
Remember, only the forums have been affected. You can still find all of our released media in the screenshots section of our site (our Gallery here on the ModDB only has half of what we have to show).
You need to have Flash and Javascript running in your browser to see this player.
Only registered members can share their thoughts. So come on! Join the Mod DB community today (totally free) and do things you never thought possible.
The issues with the website admin have been resolved, so this afternoon all of the concept art and screenshots are due to be restored to our webpage.
We will also be updating our FAQ at this time.
cant wait
fucking awesome mod.:)
congratulations to your mod leader for getting a job at dice! That will probably make the mod even better
Squirrely Jones (a.k.a. SJ) does most of the weapon models and textures these days. The grenade launcher was even his own concept.
omg who skinns your weapons?
Let's hope it doesn't combine the suck of all those mods either.
Yeah, sorry about that. Our concepts page is awaiting maintenance. Sadly only two people have permissions to change it and they've been hella busy recently. It is on their very long 'todo list'.
hey! why can't I browse concepts on your homepage? I like this mod and I think its very well-produced. I'd like to have a look at the screenshots, if that's possible.
Our lead coder and project lead just got a job at Digital Illusions CE (a.k.a. DICE - they make games) in Sweden so things have been a bit slow while he's been moving to a new country.
