Finally!! after three years of development arrives the Half-Life MOD Zion Warcry.
The previous Betas ( including the pre_v1.0 and the previous called "shitbeta" :D ) were the first tries of putting togheter what I was learning bit by bit. Now the final work is in your hands.

The MOD now has BOTs for solo players and much more features that in a first time I thoutght to add.

I am actually working in the next version, I don't think I'll start a SOURCE version nor a HL2 version, aniway, I am working on the new maps ( only concept ) , enemies and new code. I want to upgrade the ZWC Bot because I think it's good for a newbie coder, but sometimes they're quite dumb.

The new version sure took me a few months to make it finished, I hope that, not far from Christmas but not before, I could give you an almost definitive version already prepared for STEAM.

Zion Warcry for Half-Life is getting better day by day, even if it's a hard work for a solo developer ( I'm doing all aspects of the mod O_o ) and I'm doing new things every day!!.

Because some IMPORTANT "Bugs" were found in the code and in the zw_map, the fixing of all them started as soon as the first real massive playing test started. Also the MOD was tested succesfully in low-end computers to see if It could be played by everyone, and not only by the owners of hi-end computers ( mine is a P4 3.2 GHz, 1024 RAM DDR2 with a 256 ATI RAdeon graphic Card ).

Tests are done playing LAN games ,using the following systems ,without problems of excessive LAG ; of course LAG appeared when more than 100 sentinels started to fly around :D, but even this is fixed in the next Beta. Resolution was 1024x768.

-AMD Duron 900 Mhz. 128 MB DIMM RAM. Geforce 2MX 400 64 MB. MaxPing 23 / MinPing 2-3
-AMD Duron 850 MhZ. 128 MB DIMM RAM. Geforce 2MX 440 64 MB. MaxPing 26 / MinPing 3
-Intel Celeron 700 Mhz. 128 MB DIMM RAM. Geforce MX 32 MB. MaxPing 31 / MinPing 5-8

MinPing and MaxPing is the LATENCY shown in the SCORE Table In Game.

-TOW Bomb Recoded and full working.
-TRU02 "Trojan" Armory Unit added ( recharges ENGINE and Ammo ).
-Better zw_zion map .
-New VGUI features
-Two more techniques: Mjolnir and Siege.

Hi again. After 2 months of intense work I am happy to say that Zion Warcry is very close to it's final release.

During the test I found some problems regarding to gameplay that must be fixed, also , I am working on the final version of the maps, finally, there willbe 4 maps plus a training map, screens are not available yet, but I'll post tomorrow some pics of the new Thirdperson Code in action, an upgraded version of the precedent.

Also there was a big problem with the animations of the player model that I thought were caused of a bad code writing ( remember that I'm not by no means a good C++ coder !! ) and found that I have had to redone all from scratch, but the results worth the effort (you'll see !! )

The release is estimated for the first week of March. Hpe you're enjoying the pre-v1.0 version.

-Full movie action for the TUNNEL, ZION and SURFACE maps
-Gamerules finally added
-Full working APU model for Tirdperson gamestyle lovers.

I must admit that I found that problem in one or two systems from where I tested the MOD, it runned fine in LAN and in SOLO game, but it told me that there was a problem with hl/zwc dll when I tried to connect to Internet servers and then returned to LAN.

I fixed it uninstalling HL and then applying the shl v.1.1.10 patch...

I know it´s so drastic, but I don´t know why it asks for updating CS o_0

I fell quite dumb for not being able to solve such things.

Umm, I may be doing something wrong, but I don't think I messed it up... I installed it with a fresh Half life install, loaded up the mod in the game... I have updated Half-life... Yet it wont find any servers, due to CS not being up to date... I tried updating it after I completely reinstalled Halflife... I also cannot make a game, due to a problem with the Engine DLL.

BTW, the liblist.gam problem was fixed long time ago ( in the new beta is fixed, at least ;) ) there?s also a patch in www.vossey.com that fixes it and other "bugs" they?ve found ( I didn?t checked them ).

The new Beta is near a V 1.0 more than a Beta, beacause I don?t think I should add more code except for the gamerules ( I?m learning how to code them ), all weapons work and are full available, there?s a new HUD that works in every resolution, and also VGUI with images for the teams and such.

I?m having problems with the player model , and the training map is not ready yet. I?m working in an outdoor map ( did you see the "last flight of the Osiris" ? ), so I think that, until those things are not done, the next Beta won?t be released...:(

But, Hey!!, it works fine!! ( no crashes and no extrange bugs :D )

HE never changed the name in the "liblist.gam", it will appear as Counter-Strike with other mods.

btw if you want to bring the intro Video back up for the old HL installation (WON) you need to deactivate the console, or make a batch that will open HL without the console. The same way they did with TS when 2.0 was released.
