First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.
One side will have to strike first, for that team will have the greatest advantage...or will it?

Hey there troopers, we're pleased to begin the month of April with several important announcements. First up is the release of new server files for First Strike v1.1 which fix various bugs and add ranking functionality to the servers. Ranking can be toggled on or off through the use of Punkbuster on your server, and there are some requirements for stats to be recorded, details are explained below.
First Strike v1.1r Server Release Details:
-Fixed end of round bug on pushmaps (people hiding out after all flags have been captured no longer delays game)
-Fixed certain issues with Imperial defense on Endor
-Fixed various crashing issues
-Ranking can be turned on by enabling Punkbuster (turned off by disabling)
-Must be at least six (6) players in a round for stats to be recorded by the stats server

Secondly, and probably more importantly for the majority you, we are extremely excited to announce that First Strike v1.2 will be ready for public consumption in about a month, and in the meantime you can enjoy this new wallpaper made by FSDev Imperial:
We are aiming for a late April release, but it may get pushed back to early May depending on our remainging testing. At any rate, you should be getting your hands on all of the new toys found in FS 1.2 very soon so charge those blasters and oil those droids, we'll see you on the battlefield!

Will there be other factions for this game? Like the Republic and CIS? I just LOVE the Clone troopers XD
And I'll get 2142 when I get a chance, and if it's cheap.
The plan is to add more factions, however we are keeping it all in the GCW era. So CIS, etc. is not likely. However, there are a number of other unique and key galactic forces other than the Alliance and Empire that you may see at some point or another.
not at the moment, but they're trying to get 1.2 out.
i think maybe once they get a solid player base, but i really have no clue (im just a tester :P)

Yea buddy, this mod is the creme-de-la-creme of star wars themes . I cannot put into words the expertise and the care and attention to detail they put forth to create material that touches the heart of the star wars fan. Im a real SOB when it comes to being a critic ... and I have to ay that any percieved flaws I encountered were totally offset by the quality of this early production. The real treaser is knowing that a lot more material can, and is, being created to augment what they already have right here -now.
The infantry battles are actually more fun than 2142 ... and the space conflict sections are absolutely gorgeous , even for a critic like myself.
I absolutely recommend this to anyone who likes star wars.
