First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.
One side will have to strike first, for that team will have the greatest advantage...or will it?

As we fast approach the date when you guys can get your grubby little mits on First Strike v1.2, the dev team was asked by JediNet to participate in an interview in anticipation of the new release.

As a Star Wars fan and as a gamer, there comes a time when the typical run-of-the-mill Star Wars gaming experience might not be enough. Where’s the next great first/third person multiplayer action experience? If you don’t want to wait, there’s a great solution out there now. Surprisingly, I’m not referring to another LucasArts title, but to another game called Battlefield 2142. For some time, a dedicated group of developers and artists have donated their talents to creating a Star Wars based mod to this game. Now you can have realistic and satisfying gameplay set in the Star Wars universe using familiar characters and weapons.
This mod is titled “First Strike” and the development team is hard at work on the next release of the mod, anticipated for late April (possibly early May). There’s some exciting new sets and features to look forward to, but the one thing that has me and apparently many others excited about this is three words: Battle. Of. Yavin. That’s right, Porkins. You too can do the trench run!
I recently had the opportunity to interview the development team to get their thoughts about the mod and what’s coming up for the next release. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be reading next…

Are there servers up and running for this?, because i just may have to reinstall 2142 and give this a go. = )
Servers are up! So you might want to familiarize yourself with the First Strike weapons and vehicles BEFORE the ranking system is introduced. ;)
Hey it wont show any servers for me! It said when i was installnig that i need versoin 1.25 for it to play correctly when I had a newer version 1.40.
You'll need to go to the advanced tab and uncheck the ranked box, then hit update. Otherwise, you'll see no servers.
Also, when it warns you about not having 1.25 just click ignore. We didn't really expect EA to get 1.4 out this quickly.
That is incorrect. You need 1.40. You can get help from their forum on this, it has happened to a couple of others.
