C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.
Only registered members can share their thoughts. So come on! Join the Mod DB community today (totally free) and do things you never thought possible.
After some recent skirmishes, General Alexander became aware of her apparent lack of cheap and easily available AA. A vulcan upgrade for her existing mortar hummer was thus proposed and accepted. The Vulcan cannon can be upgraded on individual mortar humvees to increase her ground force's virsatility. The Vulcan humvee will fire in deadly bursts of hot lead, sure to blow any aircraft out of the sky.
No! Part of the fun of Alexander is that she's got amazingly powerful weapons yet she's amazingly fragile, with power supplies and such being vital and expensive troops. This'll ruin it.
I don't know, I think it's right, I think everyone needs mobile anti-air.
But that defeats the point of a "hide and peek" general, the point is that she builds a solid base early on but can't get a solid mobile force till later in the game. With the marines and mortar you can have a solid rush strategy early on, but now...solid rush and base defence.
Hmm, you have a point but I don't think this unit sways the balance that much.
y dont have mortar humvee anti air upgrade? why not ?
Perhaps when you purchase (or build it) first it is suppose to be a mortar humvee, then upgrade it into vulcan cannon? that might cost more, but think of a good combination for having both Mortar\Vulcan Humvee raiding enemy base.
sw gen sux at anti air so this will balance it once and for all
y still dont have ainti air upgrade!!!!!
maybe you cant get the anti air upgrade until lvl 3, but that would be stupid. Idk, maybe it is an upgrade on the humvee itself, not a tech upgrade
My only concern about this thing is plane kill balance, unlike Quads and Gattling Tanks, I think this unit should be more fragile to plane attacks.
y cant upgrade it from te humvee
"After some recent skirmishes, General Alexander became aware of her apparent lack of cheap and easily available AA."
It can also attack Infantry and it's made so you can upgrade one with the Vulcan and the other can be left with a mortar if you want.
Quit complaining about it, cause it's staying!
Okay, I was somewhat off.
"One such complaint was that General Alexander lacked early anti-air and anti-infantry capabilities. As solution to that problem, we introduced a new vulcan upgrade to Superweapon's Hummer
In future versions, the Mortar Hummvee will be able to individually trade of his mortar for this roof mounted vulcan, allowing more versatility and effective fighting against infantry and aircraft in early combat."
I'm gonna modify the description to prevent further confusion.
Good idea.
I don't believe anyone READS the descriptions, which is what has caused so much confusion.
That is a very logical assumption and I'd have to agree with that.
However it is not in my power to telepathically shove information into other's brains. (that would be rather intereting if I could):P
Very interesting. Also can you guys increase the speed of the rockets in the Lockdown MLRS.......thats killing me. Also lockdown is sometimes useless cos its rockets go parallel to the ground and cnt clear obstacles like the tomahawk :(
sweet!!!! but I wish it could fire AA rockets
now THAT is a hummer!
isotx mods kick ass. This sucks.
yup stillgrey that is so true, that is obviously why so many people voted highly for this and less than a third of this mod's contributed votes payed mideast crisis some attention.
(by the way yes of course i was being sarcastic, i love this mod)
