Doom 3 1.3.1 MacOS (Intel & PowerPC)
Sep 15, 2007 Patch 0 commentsDoom 3's last patch, version 1.3.1, that adds Windows Vista support and a number of small bugfixes and slight mod-related enhancements. Please note...
Into Cerberon aims to bring the gameplay of the definitive 6-degrees-of-freedom game, Descent, into the industrial gloom of Doom 3.
Fly around the interiors of mines, refineries, research centres, and other industro-technical environments with full six degrees of freedom control: roll, tilt, yaw, and slide in all directions. Battle with your friends in pitch-black tunnels in the multiplayer action, or take on robots infected with a terrible nanovirus plague in the singleplayer campaign. An array of powerful weapons are at your command; from the humble lasers (not so humble once upgraded) and mundane concussion misssile to the fantastic Fusion Cannon and tremendous Mega Missile. Awe your foes as electric bolts leap from your ElectroHull, or give new meaning to the phrase "bad sunburn" with the insidious UV-8 Ultraviolet Emitter. Feel the kickback of the powerful AutoCannon as it hammers your target, or the heat from the Flamethrower as it fries armour plate like chicken wings. Pummel enemies with the Hephasestus Cannon, and melt what's left with the Plasma Cannon.
Featuring claustrophobic environments and gut-wrenching action, with enemies coming at you from every which way, Into Cerberon will scare you like Doom 3 couldn't. Hide in the shadows if you're afraid, or run and gun if you can aim. Turn on your headlights to see, but be aware that they make you more visible, too.
Into Cerberon will alter your perceptions of multiplayer DM. Think all those frags you racked up mean you won the match? Think again. In "Meltdown" mode, dead men collect no rewards - you must escape the mine before the reactor blows to make it to the winner's circle.
We recommend keeping a fresh pair of pants handy. Fire up your afterburners, check your quad lasers, and prepare to descend... Into Cerberon.

Fantastic work so far!
I'm locking forward to a singleplay feature and a nice story.
Keep up the good work and I'm sure that this will be the best Mod ever!
Descent rules! You guys too!
Once single player is supported, this'll be the best mod in the universe! Maybe. (it's already very good now of course :))
Singleplayer isn't supported - yet. Sorry about that. Don't click on "New Game" unless you like staring at the console.
Consult the readme for play instructions. In our internal build we've already removed the "New Game" button so as to eliminate that particular "wtf?". You won't see any menu buttons that don't work in IC 003.

Oh you dirty little bastards.:p
I'm a serious hardcore Descent gamer. At least, I was a few years ago, when it was one of the biggest games out there. LAN parties, school clubs, you name it, if it involved Descent, I was there.
I'm thrilled beyond word to see this mod. You've made another die-hard Descent player very happy. I love how the Pyro GX looks. Unbelievible. When I first saw this, a couple of months ago, I was saddened I didn't have a copy of Doom 3 to play this on. Well, I've changed that now. Can't wait to get this installed and give it a go. I'm chompping at the bit here.
My hats off to you, the dev team, for doing this. When I heard the news that D4 had been tanked, I was discouraged that there would not be another Descent game. It seems I was wong. (Even though this isn't really a Descent title, I don't care. I have my GX back!)
I played around with 0.0.1 a while ago and it got me excited but this release is definitely a huge step. You've made a diehard Descent fan very, very happy.
Please do continue (with extreme prejudice!), I would hate nothing more than seeing something as promising as this get left in the dust. If things ever do fall on hard times, I'd be more than happy to put aside my inherent hatred of the Doom 3 engine's SDK to lend you a hand with whatever it is you need :D
Just mucked about with Copper. Very nice! I've got to say it felt very good. Keep up the good work! It really felt like you're reaching a very nice Decent feel with this. I hope you manage to finish it! :)
I'd have to add, however, that you'd probably want to make some of the passages a little larger. Not so much in Mines and Pipeline, I can imagine some frantic firefights in those cramped quarters. Mostly in Whatever, though I'd guess it's either not finished or you won't use it in future versions. The passages in it are cramped to the point where you can barely move in some spots at all. I got jammed in some spots.
SilverCinder, you can easily play Descent 2 (and 1) on modern systems with source code ports like D2X-XL at Descent2.de . They released the source code for Descent ages ago.
As for the cockpit, we're thinking eventually that we'll have a full 3D cockpit instead of a simple texture overlay.
Yes! I hope this mod goes through! I used to play Descent 2 a long time ago. Ive still got the game but it doesn't run properly on my pc now because its newer. The graphics are lookin awesome btw!! Are you going to be using the same cockpit design as the original or are you re-designing?
I really liked this mod though it was really fun and all but I though that you may want to try adding the jet into or part of the doom game. for instance mabe instead of a "treck" form airlock to airlock you would have to fly the jet arcoss the martian surface!!!!
