This modification adds the Tyranid race, from the tabletop war-game Warhammer 40k from which Dawn of War was based on, to the game. The Tyranids are an alien race, threatening the imperium from the edge of the galaxy, living only to feast upon the flesh of their foes. They are a fearsome adversary, but an even better ally! That's why our mod allows you fight with and for the great Tyranid race, swarm the enemy with hundreds of hormagaunts, stamp on your foes with the huge carnifex and devour your opponent from within with the deadly lictor. We aim to show players of Dawn of War what the fantastic Tyranids are and attempt to keep as true to the feel of the race as possible.

SURPRISE NEWS UPDATE!
Currently we have two things to fix before we make the 0.45 release (yes, sorry, it's not 0.5 but we figured you'd like an update with new models, skins and animations).
What are these two things?
Well firstly, the Synapse indicators are bugging a little (a coding problem), and secondly, we had all four Carnifex properly scaled, then Kave meddled with the betas so we could stick in new FX and now we have to recode their scaling again. :P
So both are relatively simple things to fix and we'll be right on schedule. We'll have our next private beta out hopefully by the weekend and we should (no promises, but I can't see why it won't be true) only need one more private beta after that at the most before making the release.
We'll be releasing for DC first, and following up with a tweaked version for SS afterwards.
0.45 will replace the 0.4/0.401 patch combination (so yes, the patch's fixes will be included), and have new FX, models and animations. Once it's out we'll be able to start work on the funky new stuff we want to do.

Ive downloaded all of the tyranid mods many times but i cant get it up on the game manager option?
Kaveman,is this website as up to date as tyraniddowfiles?
I mean for instance 0.5 comes and it shows in tyraniddowfiles,will it immediately show on this website?
hey guys, check out the mod homepage! Tyranid mod is for Soulstorm as soon as they finish the DC mod they will be working on the SS version. DC version will be released really soon so stay in touch.
