The Game Inspired by TacticalOps, a game based on Epic's awardwinning UnrealEngine, a group of friends took an ambitious step, creating a sequel to their favorite game on a new level of UnrealTechnology. Led by the people behind TacticalOps and TOST, backed up by a bunch of artists, modellers, mappers and supporters, the team behind TO: Crossfire pushes the limitations of Epic's Unreal Engine 2. Facing the choice of bringing terror to the world or fighting it, you will be part of decisive battles at locations you will not forget. Rescue hostages, blow up a building, gain information, assassinate a target - there is a vast variety of possibilities to decide a battle! And thus the assault continues ...

When we announced that we postponed the release of 1.2 until further notice, you showed great confidence in us by saying "take your time, you showed us before that it's worth the wait".

That little boost gave us the inspiration and motivation to settle the last bricks in the wall. Through this post we also want to thank again the people that actively participated in the open beta session which led to this version. From the feedback we thus received, we were able to fix map bugs, game-related issues and most important: we were able to adjust the gameplay according to what we were hearing from you, the community! Therefore we are proud to present to you:

The latest patch, which includes all fixes since the initial release 1.0, contains three brand new maps. We already mentioned the remake somb]I[ made of his popular TO:AoT map, pushing the visuals on OBJ-Salsa to limits suited for the ut2k4 engine.

Zer0.BE already showed throughout the public forums that he is capable of making great looking and gameplay focused maps. As a TO:C teammember he now presents his beautiful Japanese-set map, OBJ-Bushido.

Everyone knows the TO:C maps Avion and Medina, made by none other then BabyNuke. His early creation was also shown on the public forums and is now finished and packed in TO:C 1.2. The small fast paced and tense map carries the name OBJ-Dagger.

but actually we're not "new" ;)
we have been working on this mod for the last years (work started with UT2k3) and the release of beta 1.0 has been some time ago already - at least it feels like that hehehe

I wouldnt call dystopia, The hidden and probably others bad. Well at least people play them unlike pretty much every UT2k4 mod.

Really nice! I've been playing today and all I can say is: I agree with Mr. Methulah completely. Good job, people! One wish only: better single player (a campaign a la Rainbow Six or some other tactical shooter)...
