Zombie Panic: Source is a co-op oriented Survivor Vs Zombie multi-player survival horror modification for HL2. While our main priority is to make the mod as fun to play as possible, ZP:S plans to greatly expand on the core features of "Zombie panic" For HL1, with the obvious new features, impressive visuals, and of course atmospheric maps. More importantly ZP:S will not force players to fend against dumb and predictable AI, but instead keep the same intense thrill of surviving against intelligent and persistent player controlled zombies as the original.

Zombie Panic: Source Released and can be downloaded from Mod DB here.

We enjoyed a huge IRC party the other night on Release! And got to see 10k downloads in a very short time. We've already begun (and completed quite a bit) work on the next content/bug patch, so keep a look out.

Replying here so everyone can see. The installer will force a directory as it is now, and that's the default path. But seeing as how the installer only extracts a folder, it's simple to go to the default path and move it to where it should be.

So, after install. (C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\ZPS) Just cut the ZPS folder and paste it where you want it. As I said it's just extracting, which means there's no uninstall entry in Add/Remove Programs.

I think I just wasted my vote on Empires for MOTD...lol

This thing is a just released beta with more polish than any game I have seen (as far as mods go). Well, as long as survivors get animations, I would pay for this game. I have never said that about a mod before.

Fistfull of Frags has more polish than this, and it's in its first beta, Pirates, Vikings and Knights II had more polish than this in its first beta two. Both of those mods have more content too.

I just wanted to say that the installer sucks. I got my Steam folder not at C:, but everytime I run the installer and specify the harddrive and the exact folders, it extracts all the files to C:

Indeed it does and will be fixed. My bad guys :) I had been up nearly todays due to release and when I put together final build and tested it (of course default location is where my folder is) I didn't catch it was forcing location. Also new patch coming very soon to fix a lot of stuff like Survivors missing animations on some servers, headshots not working like they're suppose to, and lots more.

Thanks,
Tats...

not a bad little mod. Could do with some more player skins, and more visually appealing maps. but it's a good start

I get fragged when im zombie :(

I think the Assault Rifle is alittle bit of overkill

No it's not, it takes a clip to kill a zombie, and its rate of fire is way too high so you waste ammo.

guys, you just have to move the ZPS file in your C hard drive, to your steamapps in your secondary HD if your having trouble. Its not that hard. Definintly not big enough to bitch about.

Okay, the theme sounded extremely familiar, but like the undertone sounds like the music from Dawn of the Dead (2004). It was bugging me that it sounded so incredibly familiar but I couldn't put a finger on it.

Seems like alot of sad people are just coming here to troll..bringing no constructive critique to the table makes for a very shallow debate people.

Great release guys! and nothing which can't be sorted with a single hotfix or patch! the community are loving it!!!!.

This mod is pretty good. It has a lot of bugs which need to be fixed, but overall I still had fun and played it almost all day. My biggest gripe is the size of the Subway map, its huge, too huge that finding someone to kill can take a very long time. The maps need a little tweaking, but they look good. The best I think is the town map with the Pub, it reminds me a bit of Shawn of the Dead.

Comparing this to the other shovelware Zombie mods out there puts its far far above the rest. The sad thing is it really isn't very good in the lasting appeal factor.

Sure you have fun for a few games until the style gets old since there isn't much variety in the gameplay. Although variety isn't anything to be expected in the Zombie attack genre of games it can it least have some interesting mechanics to make it at least seem as there are more options available to both sides.

Survivors have animations, on some servers they lag and or are messed up, so they walk around in the idle animation. I have seen this bug/glitch and I hope that the ZP team fixes it soon.
