Over the past few days, US Marines have encountered stiff resistance in various areas of Iraq. There were casualties suffered on both sides, and despite the intense firefights, some photos have emerged from the areas of operation.

We finally release some screenshots...

These screenshots still contain a lot of work in progress content. Any content that is used from Half-Life 2 is there temporarily until ours can be created and implemented. The Marine model does not yet have the customization system enabled, so the appearance will vary more once that is complete. We are aware of any visual bugs or issues, such as lighting of models or player shadows, and we are continuing to sort out as many bugs as possible (some have already been resolved since these shots were taken!). Everything you see will be improved upon.

Keep an eye on the Dev. Showcase Forum (for registered members only) within the next couple of days... there could be more in-game media popping up there in the meantime until the next update!

map shots look pretty good, but id be suprised if the fps is playable with all those fires set to emissive, unless thats just for media purposes. Would be nice to see some custom wrecked cars instead of the hl2 ones, other than that good job.

The cars will be replaced, like we said in the post, all Half-Life 2 content will be removed.

The smoke doesn't hit the fps too much, it really runs quite smooth actually.

You've captured a good feeling to the place, when those cars get replaced, it's gonna look a lot more real though. Let's just hope the gameplay is of the same quality as these screenshots.
Keep up the good work!

Looks a lot like the America's Army map called "Urban" or something.

It looks good; and there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with using Half-Life 2 models! They look mighty fine!

Plus, they're huge time and resource savers.. ;)

Nice to finally see some screenies.. :)

SEThorian yes, but it defies the meaning of a total conversion ;)

im curious, is that tank (looks like a T-90) driveable?
well.. more to the point, are the tracks animated. i ask because i know of the "4 wheels only" restrictions of the vehicles in the source engine

A total conversion is fine, but just replacing models to get the total conversion title would go a wee bit too far for my tastes.. ;)

Butta... if you've got such resources in terms of modelers and skinners, then remind me to buy enough chloroform to sudate and kidnap your modeling department.. Harharhar... X|

Heheh we plan on replacing all HL2 content, just for the fun of it :P

We want to make INS taste different to HL2 and all other mods out there.

The tanks will not be drivable, they will however be fire support. ie. your commander is able to call in tanks for support
The havok physics engine limits it to 4 wheeled vehicles, but this can be hacked.
