Dystopia is a is a total conversion of the Source Engine that places players into tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computer networks. As Punks or Corporate Mercenaries, players will fight through the physical world to gain access, via Jack-in Points, to cyberspace. Cyberspace is a three dimensonal representation of the world's network. In cyberspace, players must fight off enemy hackers and launch programs to gain control of critical systems and to affect the physical world. Gameplay progresses through inter-linked physical and cyberspace objectives, and players must work together to achieve victory for their team. Players will be immersed in action-packed battles, whether as a heavily augmented combat mercenary armed to the teeth with the latest in firepower and cybernetic implants, or as a twitch-reflex cyberdecker racing to infiltrate a cyberspace node.

The creators of the popular Dystopia modification for the Source Engine are under new management and need your help! We have five (5) opportunities available that need to be filled immediately. We have an agressive plan for growth in the team and believe that the Source community can offer a positive contribution towards the success of our it.

Team Dystopia is comprised of a close-knit small group of multi-talented game developers skilled in the Source Engine, PopCap Engine, GoldSource Engine and the Quake 3 : Arena Engine. Our team consists of many industry professionals with work experience from popular studios such as Red Storm Entertainment, Epic Games and Pandemic Studios.

All positions have the pre-requisite of being active in our private IRC channel, readily available to the rest of the team, attending our monthly meetings over our private Ventrilo server, and being an active contributor to the project.
Benefits include the potential inclusion into future projects by Team Dystopia, experience and education from industry professionals on game development subject material and an overall nostalgic feeling of self-indulgence.
The positions include:

1 Source Engine Coder
- Must have in-depth knowledge about and some past experience with the Source engine
- Must be very comfortable with C++
- Must be comfortable working with code written by other programmers
- Must know how to use configure Visual Studio
- Examples of past work are preferred but not required
- Will be expected to keep in contact with the rest of the team and be present during testing sessions
- Must be comfortable with and actively use Subversion for source control/version control.

1 Effects Coder
- Must have in-depth knowledge about and past experience with the Source engine
- Must be very comfortable with C++
- Must be knowledgeable about HLSL and Shader technology
- Must have examples of past effects work with shaders or the Source engine
- Will be expected to keep in contact with the rest of the team
- Must be comfortable with and actively use Subversion for source control/version control.

Team Dystopia prides itself on being a small group of individuals who are well rounded in every game development style. Each of our developers is also experienced with differentiating talents in the game development field. Our Level Designers also serve as Modellers, Texture Artists, Animators, Sound Engineers, Music Engineers, Coding or other game-based trades. We request that every candidate for the Multi-Talented Developer position have knowledge or be experienced in at least one other talent that we require.

3 Multi-Talented Developers
- Must be experienced in two or more fields of Level Design, Modelling, Texture Artistry, Animation or Sound Engineering.

Level Designer
- Must have experience in one or more engine level editor such as ValVe's Hammer or Epic's UnrealED
- Must of worked on an independent or professional project
- Examples of past work are required
- Must have one or more talents in game development

Texture Artist
- Must have experience in one or more vector or raster-based 2D art programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Illustrator or Xara Extreme
- Must of worked on an independent or professional project
- Examples of past work are required
- Must have one or more talents in game development

Modeller
- Must have experience in one or more 3D rendering art programs such as Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Alias/Autodesk Maya, Softimage XSI, Luxology Modo or NewTek Lightwave 3D
- Must of worked on an independent or professional project
- Examples of past work are required
- Must have one or more talents in game development

Animator
- Must have experience in one or more 3D animation programs such as Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Alias/Autodesk Maya or Softimage XSI
- Must of worked on an independent or professional project
- Examples of past work are required
- Must have one or more talents in game development

Sound Engineer
- Must have experience in one or more audio engineering programs such as Sonic Foundry/Sony SoundForge or Adobe Audition,
- Must of worked on an independent or professional project
- Examples of past work are required
- Must have one or more talents in game development

i do also think that it is a new update (mabey single player that would be nice becuase of the tutorial i think they could make a good single player part)
