The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.
NOTE: There will be a lot more information on everything mentioned below when I get that 2142NE Wikipedia working (which will explain everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING).

• The NAC faction's Lambert Carbine replacement for the Recon kit.
• Slightly slower rate of fire, slightly higher damage per bullet and lower magazine capacity when compared to the Lambert Carbine.
• Basically an older version of the Lambert Carbine. It originated in the EU, was then given to NAC militaries, EU replaced it with Lambert later on, NAC kept it due to its reliability.

It looks like the FAMAS, the G36 and the heat shield of the M16 had a wild orgy and that was the spawn of it.
I think this could use, at the very least a new texture, the matte grey is sort of off-putting. Only other critiques are that it looks like it might be a little long for being called a carbine, but that's probably due to the stock's length, and that looks like a low capacity mag for something that's essentially a smaller version of an assault rifle. The barrel's certainly short enough for the carbine classification, the sight looks pretty good.
We got some other textures for this as well, racer445 made some varients for different maps. We have black, dark green and desert versions. I may upload another image showing all four of them if you want.
Where did it say that this weapon was a carbine? It's really just an assault rifle but without a secondary for PK rockets/shotgun rounds, similar-looking to the FAMAS but with other weapons mixed into it.
Yeah, it's a pretty big magazine; it can hold up to roughly 20 bullets per magazine (whereas the Lambert could hold 30 in a MUCH smaller magazine, the size of a "Chunky KitKat" bar).
Yeah I thought it was a mix between M16 and Famas at first, but it looks good, I don´t like a lot the texture but it´s cool.

Whys almost everyone complaining whenever NE mod uploads something? Come on people... you know how long it is to make high quality models and skins?... Its not like making a Command & Conquer 3 mod where you may get away with lower quality units... they are doing an acceptable job with right now when compared to lots of other mods over here on Mod DB...
I even see complaints on the soldier's details in previous images list when they look like the god of modellers and texturers came down and made it for them or something lol...
Well, people aren't really complaining, it's just constructive criticism (most of the time) or just down to personal preference. This sort of feedback helps us make the stuff that we've got look better. Sure, we may not update the stuff immediatly after we've shown it, but when the time comes where we haven't got anything major to do we may fix it up/polish it some more.
And yes, Koker (the guy who did the soldiers) is a great modeller & texture artist, the stuff he did for us was ******* awesome.
