The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.

Hi, glad to see so many people love the idea of this vehicle as much as we do (there will be a PAC version coming soon; same-ish model/design, but with their own type of weapons and engine exhaust color... hey, the Russians in BF3 get to use an AC-130 in Armored Kill, so I think it's fair).

In response to your two questions:
1. Right now, four people as highlighted in the image. One pilot, three gunners (one anti-infantry, one anti-tank and one anti-air. The anti-air guy is going to have to be a pretty good shot with the primary weapon in order to shoot other aircraft down though, that cannon is the same one used on top of the battlewalkers and this thing is going to be moving quite fast as well. The EMP missiles is a balanced secondary IMO; just slows down enemy aircraft from shooting you down). We were thinking of maybe adding a feature where it could be a mobile spawn point as well; when a fifth person spawns in they will be automatically ejected through a drop pod, but we'll see.

2. As soon as I finish most of the basic writing for the pages on the wiki, I will provide links to it. Right now most of the information on the wiki hasn't been finished. I can then assign people, who are willing to add more to it, rights to edit the pages after I put in the basic information for each thing relating to 2142 and Northern Excursion.

3. Just something that I would like to add, all of the aircraft that we want to add into mod we believe should be VTOL, including jet fighters. This will eliminate the need to have large chunks of the map dedicated to landing strips like in BF2 and just to show that flight will have changed dramatically in 100 years time. That's why this massive military plane has VTOL capability. I think VTOL aircraft also adds to the gameplay as well.

NOTE: There will be a lot more information on everything mentioned below when I get that 2142NE Wikipedia working (which will explain everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING).

Information:
• VTOL capability.
• Fully animated - Link: Moddb.com
• VTOL engines can be disabled (and repaired when landed). This will result in the aircraft losing movement speed and lift. When at least three engines have been disabled by enemy fire, the aircraft will not be able to maintain its altitude and will crash to the ground (like a Goliath but in the sky).
• The PAC will also have their own, slightly modified version (with PAC-specific weapons).
• WISTL was once a corporation, started up in 2094, made up of joint European and North American research and development projects. WISTL disbanded in late 2144 due to falling out between the European and North American powers. Most of the finished projects that they worked on have not gone to waste and have been incorporated into both factions. The SCAR project, also developed jointly by Europeans and (North) America, was a one of the weapons developed by WISTL and the SCAR-11 is used by both European and North American militaries today as the main assault rifle of the two powers due to its precision and reliability.
