So, currently I'm working on a short fragmovie/montage of 1ON1 gameplay. Perhaps if you want, you can post some shots from 1ON1, and I'll see if I can integrate them into the movie, because honestly, I'm more of a dev and less of a gamer, so my shots are all pretty average. If you want to submit footage from the game, we're looking for good shots, preferably in 1920x1080 resolution, and if possible, 60fps+ from FRAPS. The movie should be finished by the end of February, but I'm aiming to finish by the start of February, so post a comment with a link to your footage if you want to be included.
Of course, we've had some issues with 2.5, and now that the problems are (probably) fixed at our end, we're looking towards future developments, specifically BondMod and 3.0. This mod is driven by the community, so we want to hear what you want in 3.0, and we're a bit thin on skills for BM, so if you are a mapper or modeller or texturer, we want your help! We may also be looking into working on modding other games, perhaps HL2 or Crysis, so if you have suggestions there, or if you'd prefer us to stick to BF2, drop us a comment!
First of all, stick with bf2 :) and how do I use fraps? Is it a free download that lets you record games?
FRAPS isn't free for the full version, but I think you can record 60 or so second clips using the free version. If you run FRAPS you can set it to show an FPS counter in your games and hotkey a button to record it. File sizes are super-intense-huge, so you'll need to find a media encoder as well.
Can't I just use xfire to record videos?
If you can upload it to a site other than Xfire and make sure it's at maximum resolution and has sound, go for it.
Oh, and Xfire also has super-huge filesizes.
Xfire quality, as you know, isn't the *best*. PM your xfire details and i'll give ya a link to fraps and some other useful encoders.
Okay well I'm not desperate to record a game so I'm not going to bother. Hey just to let you guys know, I found a glitch in the Beta, it seems as if when the Chinese sniper crouches, he starts floating through the ground. And the G18 echoes across the whole map which is annoying.
