With regular system crashes and over-driven equipment, a disaster must have been inevitable.Deep within the tunnels and carved corridors of the top secret research complex within the mesa itself, the catalyst was introduced.
When your only companion (indeed your best and only friend of this piddling existence) suffered from an untimely death, you couldn't help but feel lost and vulnerable. And when you stumbled into a series of strange and unnatural incidents, you soon realized that no one cared about YOUR life. No one would take the time to befriend you... to help you... to save you.
People were dieing.And your best friend was one of many victims.You were forced to survive alone.To live by any means necessary.And to do it your way.
Of course, it didn't help that you were born a cat.
Cat-Life is an original concept for Half-Life and the GoldSource engine.Players will experience the Black Mesa incident from the view of a stranded pet cat.
Using claws and teeth and the natural prowess of a cat, players will travel through the bowels of Black Mesa.Xenian beasts roam the corridors and laboratories and... surprise... cats are conveniently bite-sized for those in-between-meal munchies.

I must admit, it was kind'a fun to follow this poll all week.
For a time, Hunter and Newton were tied. The lead shifted by 1 vote several times but kept returning to a tie. And for a couple of days, Donut had zero votes. There was even some early vote tampering that had to be edited out using the admin panel.
Now, the vote has expired and it is official.
The loveable little cat of Cat-Life is Newton.
Here's how the final standings locked in.
Newton: 42.6%
Hunter: 24.6%
Lamar: 14.8%
Donut: 9.8%
Argo: 8.2%

Yeah, Hunter is a nice name for the cat, as well as Lamar.
But I think Newton fits better, considering the cat belongs to a scientist.

nice mod. my friend is a mapper in the team and it is very difficult to create such a mod.but it will be the coolest mod in the hisory

The team is still working on the mod, so we aren't ready for a release yet. But when using a Half-Life mod with steam, you follow the same method you would have used pre-steam.
There will be a file avaialbe for download... a zip or rar file. You would download that and then copy the contents into your Half-Life directory. That's usually something like "c:\ Program Files\ Valve\ Steam\ SteamApps\ yourusername\ half-life".
Bare in mind, this is a GoldSource engine game for the original Half-Life and not Half-Life: Source.
lol playing as a cat in Half life got to try this when its released.
