The No More Room in Hell mod is a total conversion modification for the game Half-Life 2. It pits a small group of human players against a overwhelming horde of undead, flesh eating zombies. The mod takes place in a small mid-western city in the United States. There, the humans must try to escape the city alive by any means necessary. This means that the use of vehicles will be crucial to survival against the undead.

The mod is co-op, which means that you will be playing side by side with other people from around the world to fight the zombies, which are computer controlled NPCs. Because the mod is using Half-Life 2's Source gaming engine, we hope to make this one of the scariest and most frightening mods to date.

In this modification we plan to use the full extent of Half-Life 2's physics for ultimate game play. To put this in example form we have plans for a wooden bat that will break after heavy use. We also plan on taking advantage of the advanced map sizes for large cities and open areas, even though most the game is planned to be urban combat.

Luckily my mod is lightly modded single player, so ill guess, that i wont get screwed up with lack of coder(s).

Someone might wonder, why i use ready materials:

- if ill make everything on my own, it would take years to finish the mod.
(i allready take care of mapping, writing, web-site (i havent updated it for ages...) and concepts..)

- It`s good opportunity for people, who want to advertise their skins, models etc.

Im pretty sure, that work with this much as possible.

As far as what has been going on lately, PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BUSY, including myself. We have had to put up with INACTIVE TEAM MEMBERS, PEOPLE LOOSING INTEREST, PEOPLE MOVING TO BIGGER PROJECTS. It's extremely hard to get something done when you have 70% OF THE TEAM READY to create a certain media item or a major portion of our mod, but then there is 30% OF THE TEAM IS MIA. And what do you do then? Find new members, right? Well, that's easier said then done.

ok, I would really like to play this (I can never get enough zombie games!), I WANT to see it suceed and become mod of the year. But I just want to see the proof, thats all. I'm sure when (and if) it's done it will at least be better than 90% of the other "mods" out (SMOD!!!)

Status Report
There are some people out there that are complaining that our team is not being honest with the community on our mod's status. I will admit that we've been in the dark for a little while, but in the past we've been pretty honest about our situation and our progress (remember audio updates?). So I am here now to clear up some things and hopefully inform a few of you in the process.

As far as what has been going on lately, people have been busy, including myself. We have had to put up with inactive team members, people losing interest, people moving on to bigger projects. It's extremely hard to get something done when you have 70% of the team ready to create a certain media item or a major portion of our mod, but then there is 30% of the team that is MIA. And what do you do then? Find new members, right? Well, that's easier said then done.

The HL2 mod community talent has been significantly tapped. Most of the good modders have either been picked up by other mods, lost interest in the engine, or don't have time to dedicate to a mod. But when you finally find what you think is a dedicated and motivated member, they quickly turn into just the opposite of that. So finding new members can be extremely difficult.

As of right now, things are beginning to come together (again). People are working and things are getting done. We have had some unfortunate bad luck with inactive members and that is what halts us the most. But we are doing all we can to get things in order and hopefully have something to show as soon as we possibly can.

This team has not forgotten about it's community. Our main goal is to produce content and produce a mod for YOU and only YOU (well, maybe a little for ourselves too). We would love to have media to show you on a regular basis, but it is just unrealistic in our current state. So you may ask: When will another media update take place or when will we see more content? The answer is, we don't know. We definitely have a lot of new content that could be shown off but we want to make sure that it is prepared in a way and combined with enough media to really show off our progress in a big way. We are not going to show off every single new model that comes out the moment it is produce. Sorry, that is just how we do things and how we've always done things. So just sit tight, interact with the community, have fun, and you'll see things when we feel the time is right.

"
To those who claim that we are "dead" or that our team is "lazy", please don't bother posting on these forums. We do not need or want people in our community that put down our ALL VOLUNTEER team and all of the work that we have done over the course of our development. You have no right calling anyone on our mod team lazy when all you do is post negative comments on our forums yet you can't even take the time that our team members have to learn an actual skill to help the situation. You have never been a part of a mod team, so you have no idea how things work and what it takes. Why do you think so many mods fail? Some teams just can't put up with the disappointments and shortcomings that occur during development. But this mod team can and has for the past 4 years. So if you don't understand that and can not put up with that and have nothing but bad things to say, then please do everyone a favor and leave this community." (this part was a bit over-reacted, but ill forgive them..)

I will admit that this team has been lacking somewhat in the public relations department as of late and there is no one to blame but myself. I am the Public Relations head for this mod. I have done pretty much all I can to help promote and assist our mod the past (media updates, audio updates, recruiting, moderation, etc.). But as is the situation with other team members, I got busy. I began working full time this summer to build up my bank account. I wanted to enjoy the time that I had with my girlfriend before she left for Las Vegas until December. And frankly, I grew tired of seeing the same arguments, the same negative comments, and the same pointless topics created by members of this community. But now I am back and I am determined that I can help this community and fulfill the duties that my job requires. The PR position is filled, ok?

I apologize that this message is as long as it is, but it really needs to be to really get the message out. Our team is working and is producing content only as fast our restrictions will let us. We will release media when we feel that it is up to our normal standards and is organized enough. So there should hopefully be a better understanding now, right? Right.
