The No More Room in Hell mod is a total conversion modification for the game Half-Life 2. It pits a small group of human players against a overwhelming horde of undead, flesh eating zombies. The mod takes place in a small mid-western city in the United States. There, the humans must try to escape the city alive by any means necessary. This means that the use of vehicles will be crucial to survival against the undead.
The mod is co-op, which means that you will be playing side by side with other people from around the world to fight the zombies, which are computer controlled NPCs. Because the mod is using Half-Life 2's Source gaming engine, we hope to make this one of the scariest and most frightening mods to date.
In this modification we plan to use the full extent of Half-Life 2's physics for ultimate game play. To put this in example form we have plans for a wooden bat that will break after heavy use. We also plan on taking advantage of the advanced map sizes for large cities and open areas, even though most the game is planned to be urban combat.

When the destruction caused by the dawn of the dead spread throughout the city streets local law enforcement did their best to quell the growing threat the infected presented, but in most cases they were ill-informed and undermanned against the zombie hordes. Among those in the front ranks of this conflict were the highly trained officers from the Special Weapons And Tactics (S.W.A.T.) unit.
For a more detailed 3D panoramic view of the character model watch the following AVI video (Right-click, "Save Target As..."): SWAT_Officer.avi (999Kb, 1280x1024)
In "No More Room in Hell" SWAT Officers take on the role of NPCs (Non-Player Characters) and are among the most skilled allies that can possibly team up with you. Having received specialized and extensive firearm training they can prove to be very effective in combat situations. Unlike most civilian NPCs though, SWAT Officers will often act on their own and will not let players order them around which should be no surprise since players are in most cases just civilians. SWAT Officers will always do their utmost to protect the lives of everyone under their safe guard. Of course, SWAT Officers are still only human and as such are not immune to the zombie infection. Once bitten they become infected and upon their death they soon return as zombies...
Once an ally, this zombie will rise from the dead and begin mercilessly hunting down those he had formerly sworn to protect as the hunger for fresh meat is a hunger that cannot be ignored. Act swiftly to put down these abominations for good.
In addition to the new character models we also wanted to share another aspect of the SWAT Officer with everyone. To this end a sample audio track was put together by TripleFiveSoul, our team's Sound Artist. TripleFiveSoul brings over 3 years of audio experience with him to the team and working with other mod projects like, "The Great Collapse" and "Tolerance: Redux", he continues to amaze us with the high quality of his audio skills. This new audio track utilizes a mix of both SWAT Officer and civilian dialog along with several of TripleFiveSoul’s custom firearm sound effects. Why not download it and take a listen?

I hope that all of you enjoy your first glimpse at the SWAT Officer and the infected zombie counterpart who joins the ranks of our new line of characters modeled and skinned by Thomas "Spajsat" Larsson. If you would also like to contribute by joining the "No More Room in Hell" team, feel free to visit our Job Postings. We are always looking for new talented mappers, modelers, animators, and skinner/texture artists to help develop the mod. In particular at this time the Modeling Department is looking for an artist proficient or specialized in painting weapon skins.
