Creatures came out of what seemed to be thin air. Animated and alive. They came without a warning and swept the world ...

SWEET PIC!

Man, when i did this i didn't realise how much of a rare mod feature this is, or have i missed a few mods like this?

All i know is that source didn't have it, and 1187 does and when i got it working somehow i didn't realise how awesome it would be!

The hankd skin imo aint so bad, It's a tough skin to get right. anyway, I'm probably going to edit the skin sometime during the developement.

frankly i think textures looks better that way - most people just use flat textures, giving it some life is great. makes it look a lot better.

Dammit, that's what I was going to have happen if I ever made a mod. :(

Oh well, seeing Dec's work, I imagine it'll work really nice.
The medkit looks pretty cool, too.

Depending on the skill level he will die within a timelimit. Easy has john stay like this for 40 secs, medium will have him stay 30 secs down, and hard is old skool hl2, the character just dies, but we're thinking of givin john just 20 secs to get recovered by the player. after lets say 30 secs on medium have passed away John dies from his wounds.

I think the only other time i've seen this is in the Azure Sheep mod for HL1. I liked the system then so im sure this will be a great feature in the game. Probably give the player a better connection to the NPC if they have to watch out for them

ahh I never played azure sheep. I got the idea from SW: republic commando. The system I came up with is quite similair only that instead of bacta it's a simple medkit and you have to pick them up meaning I have to give the player a decent amount of them in order for them to not run out of medkits. Right now I have to playtest the feature a lot. Since the mod will start out pretty easy I hope that the further the player gets, the harder the battles will be and the feature will shine and come more to the forefront. I actially thought about implementing this feat after reading a poll on planetphillip about NPC's. most people seemed to not like how half life's npc system work, so I try to cater.

Description

Well, Dec's friggin awesome coding talents have lead us to have implemented a working npc health system. Basically what happens is that John will not simply die when his health gets too low. Instead, he goes down and will shout out to the player. The player then needs to run towards him with a blue coloured healthpack in hand to be able to revive him. I'll try my best to get a good gameplay video out soon showing some progress, but oh well. I need to balance a lot and test it all, here's a screen to get you an idea of what I mean. Basically you'll be looking out for two types of health packs now.
