A class project in Navigation, Game features Audio only gameplay, to simulate being blind and is set in a Monty Python-ish comical world where a group of blind Monks are initiating you into their society by having you perform several audio navigatory task to help you learn to SEE with your EARS. Game Plays through in about half an hour. Created by Kyle Audick & Erik Carlson UCLA D|MA 2008

The Blind Monk's Society is five week project in Navigation. Featuring Audio only navigation set in a Monty-Python-esk World of the Blind Monks. You will need to use your headphones to take the first stumbling steps as a blind person and eventually learn how to walk blindly with confidence. You will meet many Colorful characters on your quest to help the Society and learn to SEE with your EARS. This mod is available for Download Right HERE.

it SOUNDS kinda cool, you should see if you can add a stereophonic sound enhancer or whatever its called. To hear and example you should check out this website, put on youre headphones and take a virtual haircut, it sounds soo stupidly real ... its scary :)

any chance of porting to a FOSS engine? engines like DarkPlaces support HL1 maps (if you like to use hammer) or Q3bsp if you like Radient
fun mod though, although does all humor have to be "python-esque"
Python-esk was just the bestt Way I could think of describing it. And we used hl2 cause it was what I was most familiar with and knew had half decent 3d sound capablities, If the response is great enough we may try to make a full fledged game.

Awesome chracters and cleverly done. Couldn't find a tree to bump into though but that'd probebly just make it harder.

It's really... interesting mod. Monks dialogs are the best :)
