Ballmen is a total-conversion for Half-Life 2 featuring frenetic, fast-paced deathmatch with a unique twist: wallwalking. Essentially, any surface is traversable, including walls and ceilings. Hello mod people. As you're probably here to find out what Ballmen is, I will first provide a video. If you like, keep reading. Enjoy.

Ballmen is supposed to be fast and provide a lot of movement freedom, much of which is achieved with wallwalking. Hopefully the video explained how wallwalking, the weapon system, and the pickups work.

A beta is ready and, unless something goes horribly wrong, will be available for download on Saturday. In the meantime, you can visit the mod website to find out more by reading the manual or talk on the forums.

so the reason it's called ballmen is because the players are made from balls, and they collect balls?
hmm, there is only one way down though right? ie. gravity. if so, will there be an indicator so that you always know which way is up?

There is no gravity indicator, but we haven't had too many problems with keeping track of which way is up/down.

There is gravity to bring you down, but there is also a Puffer, which you can use to push yourself around in any direction, including down, to go down much faster, and is a fun way to get around. You can probably see it used in a couple places in the video if you look for it.

i really like the trippy effect with the gravity. must be interesting to fight around with no definite up and down looking for enemies on the ceilings.
and woo for vectorman came back to 2008 from his sega genesis days
