Freeworlds 18.31
Many years have passed since the death of Emperor Palpatine at Endor. His death was a catalyst for the plucky Rebellion to become a legitimate government. However, the Galactic Civil War rages on. Despite the loss of their Emperor, the Imperials continue to fight in an effort to reclaim worlds now lost to them.
As the two galactic superpowers vie for supremacy, Organized Crime runs riot. Smugglers sneak in and out of territories, bringing illegal goods to those willing to pay top credit. The outer rim worlds are a haven for those looking to disappear.
In a time of war, mercenaries are high in demand. Immoral souls, sold to the highest bidder to do the wet work of others. Pirates raid the space lanes, preying on unsuspecting traders for credits and their booty. Alliances are forged and broken as factions attempt to gain a foothold in the galaxy.

Freeworlds is a Total Conversion Mod. What does that mean? Gone are all the original Freelancer stuff. Every ship, every base, every system is completely customized.
Join pilots from around the world! Whether you are from the USA, Europe or Down Under, Freeworlds has an international cast of characters for you to meet.
X-Wings, TIE fighters, YT-1300 freighters, Star Destroyers! All these ships and more. Take your pick from the ships made famous in the Star Wars saga to fly!
Have your choice of careers within a faction. Be a power trader that adds extra zero’s to your factions bank balance. Prefer to fight? Work your way up through the fighter ranks to place in a decorated squadron. Starfighters not big enough? Then try your hand at flying a capital ship bristling with turbolasers and reign down terror on your enemies.
Whether you want to be a good guy, bad guy or just a shady guy, we have a faction to suit your tastes. Currently Freeworlds supports the following factions: New Republic; Galactic Empire; Organized Crime; Corellia; Mandalorians; Pirates; Vader’s Fist Strike Force; Jedi; Sith; Krath.
Factions have the opportunity to take bases from hostile forces in weekly Territorial Engagements. Be a part of a massive battle for supremacy over who gets to lay claim to a base.
A maintenance system for factions ensures that trading never becomes redundant. Keep your faction afloat and ensure your side can afford the gruelling financial cost of war.
Multiple starter options for new players! Don’t fancy joining a faction until you are more acquainted with the server? Want to earn your ship the hard way and don’t want a handout? Well you have the choice of running cargo or heading to mineral fields to try your luck at mining.
As it stands, we are a semi-RP server. While RP is optional, it is always welcome here. The server has regular Plot Events designed to bring factions together to RP out a scenario on the server.
The Freeworlds Universe is always looking to better itself. We are never content to sit and let the galaxy pass us by. Our motivated and experienced development team is always looking for ways to improve the mod and improve the overall experience of our players!
Freeworlds 2.0 – the next generation of the mod is already well under development and will take the game to the next level. Stay tuned for updates.

Work on 2.0 has now begun. Using Devas8tors ToW base, we surely hope to make this Freeworlds one of the best mods freelancer has ever seen. We're starting all the systems from scratch and using Aldebaran's Modlular Station II pack to build the bases from. With Zaxx now on our team, we hope to improve the graphics of FWs leaps and bounds!

Do you gust drop file into FL folder? cuz i cant open it after download with out picking note pad or sumting to read it.or do you have to down load mod manager?what do i do?!?!?!?!!?!?!?
Yes, you need to either:
A) Download Freelancer Mod Manger. This will take care of everything you need and also allow you to choose to have either Freelancer Backgrounds or Star Wars backgrounds
B)You change the file extension of the download. You basically just remove the .flmod and it becomes a normal .zip file that you can extract anywhere you please. After that, you can cut and paste it directly into your install of freelancer. Only bad thing with this is that you can't remove it once you do it. And, you won't be able to get the Star Wars backdrops.
where do i get FLMM at?
when i run Freelancer, after the intro screens it goes unresponsive, is there anything i can do to fix it?
Have you had this issue before? Are you running Vista? Is this a new install of Freelancer before you activated the mod over top of it?
Give me some more info or go over to the Help and Troubleshooting forums at www.freeworlds.koh3.com and we can go from there.
Holy Crap, death star! Can we blow it up? lol
More seriously, can we crash into it?
You'll be able to do the trench run, actually :)
Actually, FWs has never been much of a mission server. There is more than enough interaction with other players that you really don't need missions. To be honest, if anything, people did missions in the past to just fix reputations. We're a big PVP server, NPCs are much too easy - some of our missions involve 4 waves of 8 fighters, and that's too simple for some of our vets.
Also, in 2.0, we won't have missions at all. They're too buggy and cause a lot of unneeded issues for us. However, we'll have a dynamic economy, territorial engagements and other things to keep players interested. The focus of our server is on the players vs player + RP environment. NPCs are nice and all, but they don't provide that much stimulation. At least, not as much as a human player can.
I member in 1.65 there were missions with 12 fighters and up to 6 or 8 waves.
Yep, they used to have capital ship missions in 1.65, too. However, we have a much better economy than 1.65 so people make more money mining/trading or bountyhunting to play with NPCs.
