Half-Life Havoc is a mod for Half-Life 2 centred around physics. The objective is to create a middle ground between Half-Life 2 and Garry's Mod. The idea is to take the constrained physics play present in Half-Life 2 and combine it with the lack of urgency present in Garry's Mod. You are presented with a number of premade physics games or puzzles, but each one is designed to encourage free play within the given puzzle. The mod makes use of Valve's developer commentary system so with developer commentary mode enabled you are able to hear explanations of the physics and the games. This allows you to experience the Half-Life 2 engine's physics system and explicitly consider the physics, rather than playing the game with the physics in the background.

That's right!

It's up here

Gamecareerguide is the sister site to Gamasutra. They focus on student projects and getting into the industry.

It's almost the same as the essay up on the HLHmod site, but we reworked a few things taking into account some of the comments we received from all you lovely people!

Cheers!

Here's Alpha 1. There's a bit more to do, but still no commentary. That's the next step.

There is no gameplay, it's just a map with commentary. This belongs in the facepunch maps section not on moddb.

Frankly I was disappointed. I was expecting a kind of puzzle mod where you have to solve various problems using your gravity gun, not a single map with extremely simple physics tests.
You were talking about Garry's Mod in your description. I was expecting something... different. Something that can't be done within seconds in Garry's Mod. Something like a simple storyline, and goals.

It looks like the biggest part of the work was the "dev commentaries", since even the map isn't really complex. I've played this for like 20 minutes and then got bored. You should have made more interesting games with physics constraints such as ropes, hinges and all those wonderful things that can be done with the Source engine.

I'm giving it a 3/10. I may sound rude, but heh. Constructive criticism. ;)
