Well I finally got around to properly setting up the forums properly, and now there are actual forums on the forums, If you are just going to bash the mod and make accusations then don't even go there, I won't hesitate to I.P ban you.

Please stop it with the mod bashing, I'm not ripping models and never will, yes I am using some models from google sketchup, but I have asked to use them and am allowed. credit for the models from sketchup go to:

  • Liam887
  • Warsock
  • Birdman
  • ≤ Co¬¬in L ≥
  • Commander 00M9
  • tuckad

I think thats all I need to sya for now, oh yeah and next update is the scarab

As for ripped models, yes there are some. Not in these screens maybe, but in many of the earlier ones there were unmistakable characteristics that the models were ripped. I was wrong about the ripping in most cases, he just took them from other people instead and hardly put an hour of work into any of them. I give up my argument about ripped models for the most part, but if you were paying attention I already did that in earlier posts.

You must be really, really, really dumb. Did your mom have sex with a dead monkey? Really? Stop abusing his mod? Where in that fucking comment was I abusing his mod? I stated that how he is going about making it is very immoral, but that I have decided that is ok because he is a one man team, so I will take back previous arguments. If you believe that to be abusing his mod, you must be typing this under a bridge with a stolen laptop with a long beard and raggy clothes.

@purplehaze412:
Like I said above and before in other comments, I am giving up the argument that these models are ripped. No, they are taken from other people that did all the work for you, which is just as bad, permission or not. When I first found out about this mod I did have reason to believe that the models were ripped, as one of the ealier screens showed a banshee without a pilot, something that anybody making a banshee model would no have done if they had half a brain, giving me reason to believe that it was the one in game.

And I didn't say stolen, just stolen with permission, both involve taking a model from someone that has already done the work for you, which is believable immoral.

I will say it one last time, if you read that post you would know that since he is a one man team, I will leave him alone about using pre-made models.

Dud, stop tossing around the word "immoral." You've got yourself in a fix. What happens when/if H:FO uses my fully skinned and modelled Athens design, is it going to be immoral?

I'm not fighting with you, you know where I stand on this mod and H:FO, but you're not accomplishing anything.

Just thought I'd be helpful, there are tons of user-created Halo ships like the longsword and stuff over at Garrysmod.org. The models are pretty good, and definitely could help improve your mod.

(This isn't an ad, I am not affiliated with Garrysmod.org.)

but also, im not gonna lie... from a mod consumer stand point, everyones been dying for a HALO mod. including me. and yours is another option. because your mod exists i know im going to download it, simply because i have wanted to control a marathon in space combat for a while and it might come first before HFO. seriously, as a consmuer, the question of legality doesnt really affect me. so honestly, if i see a halo mod, im downloading it. If you want to mod blamtroid, by all means good luck and i hope you make a good mod. But i will say this. honestly, looking at the huge amount of SWEAW mods, the quality ones are always the ones i end up playing the longest.

seriously man, it looks good, but its the only other one youve seen other than H:FO. Dont rush to conclusions that this mod is better because hes quicker to release images than H:FO. Plus, Im not gonnna lie, the models of the CCS is not up to par with H:FO's. But also, the UNSC Marathon and Frigate seem well on their way to becoming units with good models and good skins.

The problem H:FO has is that the didn't have a skinner. Basically, you have some really good modders with H:FO building from scratch and HALO:Covenant at War being created and refined from some already created material, along with the new work of the creator of CAW. I mean, if the creator of Covenant at War asked for the models, which he probably did or is atleast doing now because hes gotten so much flak for it, he isnt doing anything wrong.

But you have to admit, the whole situation is pretty stupid because a very qualified team who has been working their asses off creating top notch models is being superceded in acclaim by a modder who just borrowed (thought with permission there is nothing wrong with it)some models, threw them in some screen shots, and put them on Moddb.

and honestly, how often does this criticism go against a mod? i mean, this arguement against COW doesnt come from anywhere. People do not just make up accusations this seriously, plus, it is coming from multiple sources.

honestly blamtroid, the way you backed into the corner publically announcing that you didnt do it and changing your banner just because topazfreno called you out using halowars banner shows that you seem to be guilty and regretting something...

you know when I started this mod I had no intention of being better than H:FO and I don't pretend to be, the aim of CAW is simply to provide a quick but good halo mod while H:FO finishes production.
And as for the banner I didn't know about topazfreno's complaint, I just changed it because I didn't like the old one.

"I still think the way you are going about getting the majority of the models is immoral and half-assing it, but since you're a one man team I'll leave you alone."

saying its immoral to source material from outside a mod team is probably more immoral than the point of the statement. the number of mod teams out there as opposed to modelers AND skinners AND riggers is very unequal. what about the slightly larger mods? should they deserve your abuse simply because they can't get the above in their team. here's an idea, how about YOU do the modeling and the skinning and the rigging for this mod, that way you wont have worry about any legality problems (except maybe for ms...). I've tried modeling and rigging for this game and it ain't easy. my mod teams hasn't got modelers or skinners or riggers so we have to rely on other modelers allowing us to use their models. we credit them for it... we ask permission. if they say no then fair enough... its unfair on smaller modding groups that don't have the ability to produce everything independently to cop c#$p for that very reason.then there is the whole... there is a simialr mod who has x and y, just merge with them... then should the mod be released a total disaster or not at all, there is no alternative and most mods are unique in someways.the whole idea of mods is VARIETY not uniformity. and these "oh its ripped from a game" comments, some, very select cases is it true but unless you have evidence, don't make such accusations. and people need to stop abusing other mods simply becasue their trying to provide the community with something new for them to enjoy even though there are limitations upon them.
