Sword of Ruthra is the story of Shade, a gigantic stereotypical RPG hero who seems to be not only driven by, but made of RPG cliches and his friends as they struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, defeat a tyrannical sorcerer, find his best friend and sort everyone elses' problems out along the way (damn citizens with problems can sniff an RPG hero out from a mile away).
This game will feature zombies, vampires, cowboys, techno-cowboys, knights, sorcerers and sorceresses.. Don't hit the back button yet, it isn't done in a stupid way, there are relatively good explanations for all of it.
Sword of Ruthra also has two planned expansions (that will play as movies) called Angel of Death and Business Opportunity.
Sword of Ruthra started way back in 2004 when me and my friends discovered the RPG maker XP. After trying (and failing, due to our general teenage uncooperativeness) to do a group project with it, we broke apart in a friendly competition to see who could make the best RPG maker XP game and make some money out of it in school as fast as our little testosterone-driven hands could do so. However, being young(read-stupid) we all took on hugely over-ambitious projects and got bored in a very short time. Being the pack-rat that I am, Sword of Ruthra stayed alive- neglected, but alive- on my computer, waiting for me to get off my arse and work on it again.
now, in 2007, that time has come. I resumed work on the project, obviously older (hardly wiser), perhaps I should be able to finish it now. It may take a long time though, I made a lot of spelling mistakes when I was younger. Hell, I made a lot of mistakes. To be honest, I HAVE to finish Sword of Ruthra, simply because it's very existence has bothered me for years. Taunting me, unfinished..
A demo is already complete, and a trailer (though the trailer has absolutely NO scenes that are in the game, it's more of a joke). The demo will be uploaded when it has been fixed (spelling mistakes etc) and I'd rather not upload the trailer due to it's overly simplistic design, but it will probably turn up eventually.

What can I say? My work is cut out for me. All the old dialogue needs to be updated, as my 2004 self had horrible grammar.
I was a horrible mapper then, and I suppose at best I'm a tolerable mapper now. Updating needs to be done.
Then there's the rest of the game. And I suppose I should redo the demo and add on to the trailer.

Looks good so far, remember to use custom graphics :D
Or it looks unproffesional
thanks :D I'm using custom graphics and some graphics I took from other games (I plan on leaving no one uncredited, though). Still, they're mostly simple enough.
