In our first update in 2008 you'll see our first attempt on Spice fields, terrain textuers and some Ordos related stuff. We also got a new 3D artist who's in charge of creating Atreides units and structures: Mongoose. Mongoose did some models for the Command & Conquer Generals modification "The finest hour" (which fused with Blitzkrieg II at some point). He already finished some models, but we'll only show you the Atreides Gun Tower for now.

Terrain textures, spice and some Ordos unitsAs I said, we are working on terrain textures, so our mapper freezy can start working on maps for DAW. Currently we're using the original Emperor: Battle for Dune terrain textures with normal maps added to them.

We also finished the new APC and turret models for Ordos, and added some lights to existing units. Since both the Ordos gas turret and pop-up turret got the same base object, it's hard to see the difference between them. For this reason we added some icons just above the turrets, which are only visible for the owning player and it's allies. This way it's easyer to organize the own defense as an Ordos player.

Since someone asked us about betatesting DAW, I'll tell you what we have in mind for testing/releasing: We do not need betatesters at this stage of development. All tests will be done within the Thundermods.net team.
But we don't want you to wait too long to get your hands on our modification, so we decided to release DAW in three stages.

First stage will feature every unit and structure of Emperor: Battle for Dune as well as a new balancing, Skirmish AI and some Maps
Second stage will contain new special powers and unit upgrades and some updated balancing. We also might add/replace some units in this stage
The final third stage may also include some new units, structures, specialpowers, upgrades, but the main objective is to get the single player mode done.

Now head to the gallery and take a look at the new screenshots!

The devastator has one small disadvantage.. it's a WH40K rip-off - http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Imperial%20Guard/Krieg/superheavies/machvcp2.jpg
