Time for another update on Dune: Arrakian Wars. Stay tuned for the first screens of the Inkvine Catapult and a quick preview of two Harkonnen buildings - the Flame Turret and Warfactory.

In the hands of a true sadist, even the most crude weapon can be as lethal as modern weaponry - whilst not as sophisticated as other vehicles, the Inkvine Catapult demonstrates very well that the Harkonnen know the meaning of sadism. Serving as a long range artillery unit, the catapult is able to launch barrels filled with toxic Inkvine liquid over long distances. Upon hitting a solid target the liquid spreads out and contaminates the area, damaging everything in its radius for some time. Especially infantry should beware of the toxic puddles.

The following structures are already completed but not fully skinned yet, so we decided to go for models only: The Flame Turret serves as House Harkonnen´s stationary anti infantry defense. With their medium ranged attack, they bring quick death to every enemy with light or no armor, so even some vehicles should better keep their distance.

The Harkonnen Warfactory is, as you probably guessed, responsible for construction of all vehicles available to Harkonnen. Like other production structures, the Warfactory can only build a portion of the vehicles available to Harkonnen and must be upgraded in order to allow construction of the more advanced vehicles. Like the Flameturret we only show you the model.

Also last but not least: Concept artist gntlemanartist joined our ranks and is currently working on redesigning some Ordos vehicles. Stay tuned to see some of his works soon!

Tell me fellow modders... why is it that Atreides hasn't been made yet? Hmm? Oh... and why is the Devastator now a tank unlike in Emperor? I can understand that the Devastator was originally a tank. Is it that you lack a good animator? And thus are holding off the Atreides till you find one? Because they had 2 mechs as their PRIMARY units, its kinda betraying the original game if you turned them into tanks.

Now there some interesting words, you only telling that everything is bad, so show your work from this branch instead of cruising. And another thing this project isn’t a direct duplicate of the original game, so should Devastator look like tank or a mech, its modelers choosing.

Mod looks great for sure and I certainly knew they weren't directly copying the original. I knew from the start the Devastator was a tank in the older games but a mech in the Emperor. I liked Emperor and thing is, turning the devastator into a tank and the lack of Atreides in the galleries tells me that there is a good chance that the team lacks an animator to make mechs hence why only Harkonnen and Ordos have been made. Seeing as how Atreides have 2 mechs as primary units (aka not special) it'd be betraying a great deal of the original game for a simpler solution.

If you really must know I am skinning units for Sigma Invasion and I'll be modeling their infantry and doing all of the complex animations such as running ect, I am also an animator for MidEast Crisis 2, and I have animated Shockwave's ExoSuit running anims myself.

Now I understand your point of view, in this case, when you have good skill (no doubt in that i've seen couple of mods you mentioned), any help is welcomed (this is my opinion). Anyway i think, you can have a chat with mod team, for good of both sides. I think that this project is really very promising, and it will bee bone, the main question is when, an any talented person could shorten this time limit

Great mod one criticism would be the terrain. It looks reali plain and really undermines the great models your team are producing. Apart from that this mod really looks great!

Uh.. isn't sand normally looking plain? Also, what you're seeing here is the START of implementing textures into the mod. There aren't even any map objects or those lines like on Emperor maps yet. This will all be included in later versions, so you can look forward to it. :)
