We did a double news post on our website today about the mod's status and trailer.
The Trailer for Ruiner is now online! You can view a low resolution version on YOUTUBE, or a mid resolution version on the mod's MOD DATABASE PAGE. You can also download a higher quality version in quicktime format at the MODDB as well. Please remember the mod is still work in progress and some of the content is still being worked on and improved. Many things including the player model, animation and weapons are still being worked on. The new features previously mentioned and some of the ones listed on the info page of the site were added after the trailer was recorded. This trailer is meant to give a small taste of what is yet to come... "when its done."

JUNE STATUS REPORT:
During the last couple months of development, many exciting unplanned changes, content and improvements have been added to the mod. There is also much more planned. It is best not to give specifics just yet till we know they are fully working & bug free. In light of the recent changes, we are indefinitely delaying the release of the demo. While this may disappoint some, it is felt that this is for the best in delivering a better, more unique experience to the player than previously planned. The info page of the website has been updated with some of the features that have been added and fully tested.
First 50 seconds of that trailer were pointless I mean they're just shots of the ground and a few trees? don't really get it..
The game looks interesting and particularly how you got the entire game to turn into a 3rd person hack and slash is impressive so well done on that.

One of the few mods to take advantage of Doom Physics! It looks very interesting and quite polished.
I personally just don't like being on fire, while running around, so that might be a downside, to me. Do you have any cut scenes? Are you guided, by some kind of story-frame, or is this all hack and slash and run and gun?
Nice mod, bit strange tailer, but overall a good impression!
The mod features many in game cutscenes to guide the player and give the world around them more life. The story itself won't be featured in the demo, but will be in full builds. We are aiming to include max payne style cutscenes with music, narrative and voice overs for them.
Our primary focus is on gameplay. A majority of the new features we are working is to make the game more then just run & gun and hack & slash. This might be the focus of when we do another trailer for for the mod.
I think is a pretty good trailer, or we can call it a sort of cinematic trailer. I like the idea of the intro, helps giving the right feeling on what we will play.
As for the demo, take your time guys, always better a polished product than a buggy one. You have my full support.
The looks great. But the trailer was a bit.. odd. Anyways, I hope to see the end product soon.
We knew going with this style of a trailer might turn some people off because this genre isn't always for everybody. But your right Neuro in why we choose to do it this way, to help give the viewer the style of the game is more towards the eerie, feeling of dread and the unknown instead of D3's boo I gotcha scares.
The live action trailer reminds me of early My Dying Bride videos, good stuff. Obviously, the game itself is looking pretty swish as well.. :P
Awesome, plain awesome, looks like Resident Evil with magical powers. It feels professional as if it wasn't a mod.
