Zombie Slayer

Zombie Slayer is a Doom 3 mod that incorporates gameplay from games like Dragon's Lair and Shenmue, but with a twist -- you have three chances to successful input the correct key. Fail three times, and you are dead.
The story: You are John McAllen, a mercenary hired for an outpost on Mars. You have been awoken from an alarm: Zombies have overrun the base. Now you and some other survivors must escape with your lives.
A chainsaw zombie. A constant internal struggle between survivors. Infection. How will this end?
The mod is split up into four chapters. Each chapter has a gameplay segment and a storyline segment.
The two chapter demo is available now.

Website Up and Running

Media Update
Below are two screenshots: one from chapter 1 (chainsaw fun) and one from the chapter 2 gameplay sequence (zombie punching fun). As you can see in the chapter 2 gameplay sequence, Gazz's level design is really shining. Mystic Realmz's soundtrack in the background also adds a layer of depth to both areas.
Better Level Design
Much has changed since the demo was released. Gazz, the former lead designer for Classic Doom for Doom 3, is now helping with the levels. As such, he is reworking the maps that were in the demo.
Checkpoint System Implemented
Due to player feedback, a checkpoint system is now fully functional in Zombie Slayer. This new system will be in the level that was in the demo.
Release Date Pushed Back
Unfortunately, the entire team's schedule is incredibly busy, so we are pushing back the original release date of June 19th.
Zombie Slayer is now slated to be released sometime in 2008 or early 2009.

I enjoyed the demo, dude. Keep up the good work. :D
I did notice a bug though, after using a few continues the game would break. I'd be stuck in First Person view in the guy's quarters, unable to walk or do any actions - aside from looking around (with the mouse).
Shenmue = the best rpg/adventure game I've ever played.
Doom 3 = very good but very repetative horror FPS
Zombie Slayer = the best of both worlds
I only saw the video but I think you are on to something with this! Please finish it!

Hey guys. My Doom 3 went out of my registry somehow, which means I can't install patch 1.3.1. Could someone send me the exact files from that installer, or tell me what to put in my registry?
It's too bad you're discontinuing this mod although I completely understand your reasons. I watched the demo on youtube and even though it was a bit rough around the edges, I found myself really getting interested in the story. Good luck on your future endeavors!
I am thinking about uploading the script and other scraps so that people can see where the story was heading. We'll see.
